With lousie comeback this chapter (had to pull out a magnifying glass to spot her) I am really interested to see how the her dynamic with Mikasa is going to play out.
I think we all suspect that lousie took the scarf granted how she idolizes mikasa to the point that it appears she has done her research on mikasa's past.
She is indirectly trying to get mikasa's approval here because she thinks she is like mikasa or that she is trying to be like her. She is blatanly saying that she doesn't regret violating military law and she has no reason to say that unless she is looking for mikasa's appreciation.
She is also very perceptive
And then we have this! She is literally eyeing the scarf and I am like 99.99% sure she took it.
This right here is the face of a fan.
Her reappearance gives me hope that she will affect mikasa's character in a positive way. Because she idolizes mikasa , the way mikasa idolized eren, by interacting more with her mikasa can finally be able to make the hard choice of confronting eren. I know after 123 mikasa did come to terms with everything about eren but she hasn't come to terms with her feelings about him , how true the ackerman stuff is or how she has to take a position in this conflict. By that I don't mean that she will have to pick between killing or siding with eren and siding with eren is not even an option right now. But what I mean is that she has to be able to make the decision to confront him , to just talk to him. There have been some great meta's about how mikasa will be the one to kill eren but that's something left for the very end and I am not necessarily sure if it will leave a good impact on mikasa emotionally. So I am not getting into that territory..
Mikasa first has to accept that whether they can or can't stop eren, she has to confront him about this whole thing, about everything.
Now back to lousie, her taking the scarf brings us back to this moment! And her appearance implies that it wasn't just a random decision to have lousie be there when mikasa left the scarf. So one way or another the scarf is bound to resurface but we don't know if it will be eren or mikasa this time who gets to wrap it around the other. And let's ignore all this for a second and think that there will be no more scarf wrapping , it still doesn't negate the fact that the scarf is clearly very moment, if it wasn't then mikasa would have ditched it carelessly.
And of all the memories to visit and be gloomy about , eren wouldn't be lost in this one!
Mikasa has already told eren that the world is cruel because that's what he needed to hear back then
And he accepted it. Mikasa was able to guide him in the right direction.
And now she has to show him the beauty in this world and based on how things have worked for them in the past , I think she will be successful in that. I am not being optimistic in thinking that all will end well for these two or anyone tbh but they will have a siginificant moment eventually.
Remember these days ? Can't believe they have come so far... But eren is angry , he is really angry, and he has always been impulsive. I don't know how it will play out but their bond will be very important because mikasa will get to call him out on it again.... one last time.
