we finally find the 9 door, but our only reward is to get stabbed in the back.

i did some cross referencing for this one, as this line had opposing meanings between the ds and port versions in english, so i got very curious as to what was happening in the jp versions.

w/the help of machine translation and a friend with some decent understanding of the language, it seems to be that the jp script is roughly the same between ds and port (accounting for the shift from descriptive text to dialogue), and that the en ds translation is more accurate in this case.

(those added effects in the adv mode here gave me a momentary urge to do a side by side w/nvl vs adv at some point, but thankfully i came to my senses. i've put enough on my plate thank you very much, someone else can do that if they want lol)

again, the text is slightly too fast for comfort. that should be fixed for the rest of the series. the plan is for there to be 4 more videos, covering doors 7+1, then the three remaining endings (axe, safe, true).

this episode we go through doors 8+6, and contemplate the consequences of getting wet.

somehow the port runs really well for me now? and unfortunately i did not realize that this means the text speed on auto-play is now slightly too fast for comfort until after i'd not only recorded all the footage, but had to rerecord it. so you're just gonna have to deal with it for this video and the next (which covers knife end), sorry about that.

finally, we reach our first ending! man it was so nice to make a short video, this only took 2 and half hours to edit (part 5 took 11😪)

oh yeah, idk if i've mentioned it, but after i finish this series i'll post a compilation of every mandatory novel mode section. so far there's been 4 distinct sections, adding up to ~11 minutes of footage (out of the 6.5 hours i've covered)

since playing the game i've kinda become obsessed with the drakengard 1 ost (i listened to the whole thing back to front on a daily basis for like two months lol) so of course i couldn't resist covering its singular voiced track. and man, what a track it is…

i used gekiyaku's injection voicebank for the main vocal (and her whisper vb for her whispers, naturally). it has so much inherent personality it almost feels like i didn't put in much effort of my own with the tuning haha

the illustration is based upon one of the official renders of furiae, but wearing the dress she does when she… well. grows wings.

while listening to this song (venus & mars by ottori) i thought about how well it would suit an amv about fukiko and rei, and then i realized: i've done 40 hours of video editing in the past two months, i could absolutely make that myself. so here's my first ever amv!

i did a lot of bigger pieces this year! and as if to compensate, i had next to nothing to pick from after august lol.

i was still drawing, it was just less (i got tired from all those big higurashi pieces i did back to back over the summer, and then the 999 comparison videos have taken up a LOT of time).

what i did draw was primarily concept doodles for two original projects still in their infancy (hlhc and something else), so i don't want to post about them too much (as i actually intend on like. making them at some point). you get to see one of those pics in november, cause i didn't post anything that month
