I just love how deeply bad the Fool was at being a prophet early on. Like I have this critically important message for the Catalyst (to whom I’ve barely spoken, mind you), but I don’t really know what it means. So I guess I’ll just sneak up on him in the woods??? Try to be come across as mysterious?? And if he doesn’t understand my gibberish nonsense I’ll just call him stupid and run away??!? Brilliant stuff, babe. Like he really thought Fitz was gonna fall to his knees like “OH MY GOD. I UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING NOW” and then follow him to the ends of the earth.

It is crazy how much Robin Hobb loves the word supercilious. Like, she *loves* that word. The amount of times it is used in ROTE is probably double than it has been used in any other fiction in the past century. It's a nice word don't get me wrong, but even taking into account her sesquipedalian lexicon her utilization of the locution "supercilious" is discombobulating.
