“Okay, yes, we’ve spent a lot of time together but - but wasn’t the whole sleeping with someone a thing on your bucket list? I mean, not saying that I oppose the idea or anything, but, you know. Kinda a romance killer there, don’t you think?” Calvin shrugged slightly then, still following Alana towards the stairs none the less. 

Alana stopped on the stairs when he brought up the bucket list. She actually thought that maybe he’d forgotten about that. “Yes, it was on the list but no, that’s not why I want to do this.” she stepped down so she was on the same stair as him. “I don’t think the length of time really matters, it’s the quality of the time.”

“Yeah? You’re really sure?” Calvin hesitated a bit, unsure how to really move forward. It wasn’t as if he wasn’t interested in move forward with the girl, but he still felt hte need to be a little hesitant considering they hadn’t been together long. “We haven’t exactly been dating a while or anything like that and this is sort of a big step.”

“I’m really sure.” She promised, heading for the stairs. “We haven’t, but We’ve spent a lot of time together this summer and- I like you, Calvin, a lot, and I trust you. Which means something to me.”

Calvin nodded slightly at first before finally words came out a bit breathy. “I have, yeah. I mean, it’s been a while and it didn’t start exactly like this, but yeah, I’ve done…this before. Have you?” He was pretty sure she had said before that she was a virgin, but Calvin couldn’t be exact. “Are you sure you wanna do this, Alana?”

“I think a this point we’re both fine with the fact that I don’t do anything the normal way.” She shrugged. “I have not.” She shook her head. “But I am totally and completely sure that I do.” She promised. “There isn’t a doubt in my mind.” Alana knew she wanted this.

“Wait, I’m sorry - what?” He had to have heard her wrong, right? There was no way she was really asking what he thought she was asking right then. Yet, as Calvin stared at her longer it became more and more clear that yes, Alana was in fact asking that they hook up that evening. Feeling a blush rise up his neck to his cheeks, Calvin then cleared his throat. “Okay.”

Alana watched as he processed what she said, the blush slowly making it’s way up his neck. “Okay?” She asked, “Great.” She felt about a hundred times less nervous with that. She reached out to take his hand, stepping closer to him. “You said you’ve done this before, right?”

“Oh yeah? What is it that you were thinking?” Calvin’s eyebrow rose slightly, waiting for the girl’s answer. It was kind of too cold that evening to go swimming and Calvin hadn’t really brought a change of clothes so that was out of the question. Beyond movies, he couldn’t imagine what it was that Alana wanted to do. 

Alana paused and looked back at him, she was trying to figure out the best way to suggest it. “I want to have sex- with you specifically.” Okay maybe not exactly the most eloquent way to put it out there. “Because I really like you and I know we haven’t been like, actually dating for that long but I- I know it’s what I want.”

“Yeah? That’s good to know. Not that I don’t like your brother just fine, but yeah. Soemtimes it’s kind of weird how he hangs around, you know?” Calvin shrugged slightly then. He got it, to a point. People were protective sometimes and it seemed to some capacity, Adrian was a protective brother as well. “Yeah, we can totally stay in. What are you thinking? Movie?”

“No, it’s fine, He’s super weird.” Alana waved a dismissive hand. “In everything he does.” She closed the door behind Calvin and headed towards the casual sitting room. The one where they were allowed to hang out. “Yeah, we could do a movie but... I kind of had something in mind.” She admitted. Adrian suggested being honest and she was going to do it even though part of her was actually worried he might turn her down.

Hanging out with Alana had him nervous in a way Cal wasn’t used to. He had hung out with her plenty of times before, but that was back when he had was seemed to be a one-sided crush on her. Now they were dating and suddenly things seemed much more high stakes. Everything had an expectation or meaning to it and it wasn’ tlike Alana was his first girlfirend, but he wasn’t exactly a lady’s man either. Heading up to the door, Calvin gave his throat a quick clearing before knocking. 

Alana didn’t hear the knock, but the doorbell alerted her that someone was there, so she hurried for the door, going to open it. “Hey.” She chirped. “Come on in.” She encouraged, stepping out of the way. “I figured tonight we could stay in, Adrian is... somewhere honestly no idea but he went out.” He was probably in the guest house, or else he’d dragged his boyfriend out.

Alana was nervous, Calvin was going to be there at any moment and she knew it. Alana, in true Alana fashion had made a list of stuff to do before he came over. It included kicking her brother out of the house, making sure she had condoms ready, tucking one into the pocket of her skirt, and she was checking off the last item on the list, throw away the list, when she heard the car pulling into the drive.

Adrian: I love him.

Adrian: Well I happen to find him very hot, even with the hair.

Adrian: But yeah, just talk to your boyfriend. Keep communication open I guess?

Alana: I figured.

Alana: Okay but your taste is kind of bad.

Alana: I will. I'm going to have to get things ready though. To set the mood. would it be weird to make a list for this? Because I'm about to make a list.

Adrian: I guess, yeah. I mean, I will get him a real ring of his own soon enough.

Adrian: My wolfman is hot naked.

Alana: Gross.

Alana: He's really not. Like, he's super hairy.

Alana: I told him he wasn't allowed in the pool because of possible hair clogs.

Adrian: We aren't ACTUALLY engaged...yet.

Adrian: Ew.

Alana: Close enough.

Alana: Oh please, I had to see your wolfman naked. You don't get to Ew me.

Adrian: Well I did give him a ring, so

Adrian: Nerd. Just be honest with him and hear him out if he's hesitant cause of the list.

Alana: I saw. Can I throw an engagement party?

Alana: Don't be rude. I will. You're going to need to not be at the house on Friday.

Adrian: I mean, yeah. I was super into Remy and we started kissing for the first time so.

Adrian: Just don't get mad if he does inquire as to whether or not it's cause of the list.

Alana: And now you're married.

Alana: I won't. I really like him. He's sweet. And an amazing singer.

Adrian: It was cute in its own way

Adrian: Then, if he has reservations, let him know that you're doing it cause you wanna

Alana: Was it?

Alana: Cause, I think he's had sex before but he knows I haven't, and I mentioned the list... I just don't want him to think that like, I just want him to mark it off my list.

Adrian: Okay, well communication is key anda ll that, but maybe don't come out with just "I want to have sex with you" you need to have like a mood set out and helpful hint, don't do like Remy and I and just start getting to second and a half base out at the park. It's not as cute as it sounds. Be somewhere comfortable and maybe a bit of making out then as necessary, discuss it.

Alana: That... doesn't sound cute at all, it sounds like a lot of bug bites.

Alana: Okay, so set the mood. I can do that.

Adrian: And?

Alana: How do I express to someone who knows my summer bucket list that I definitely want to have sex with them but not because it's on the list?

Adrian: ...yes?

Alana: And school starts in like... two weeks.
