Her life was always rather hectic. Living in and out of foster homes had her use to moving around, used to new environments and new people. She was pretty much immune to it all at this point, not caring about a single person, not making friends really, not having a social life outside of the few people she could tolerate. Daisy was nothing but a tiny ball of unprovoked anger, and she took it out on everyone. Eden was the only person she truly loved, more than anything, and she was currently in a rush going to see her. She had an overnight bag packed, her hair thrown up in a messy bun and typically heavy make-up completely washed off, leaving her bare and vulnerable to everyone’s judgment, she hated it but she knew as soon as she got to Eden’s she’d force her to wash it all of anyways.
She was about to exit her shared apartment when her roommate walked through the door, making her let out a soft sigh as she put on a smile for him, her boyfriend, Alvaro, “Hey baby, I thought you were staying late for that uh, study group or whatever?” Daisy questioned as she dropped her bag, feeling her phone vibrating in her hand, knowing fully well it was most likely Eden texting her again, “I ordered pizza, it’s on the counter, your favorite.” Being in his presence made the little tinge of guilt enter her heart, watching him as he locked their front door.
Alvaro had given her a new life when they met… he was a nice boy, not the boys she was used to, and despite how much she had originally wanted to hate him… his charm was enough to win her over, and the fact he went to Bernard had also encouraged her to give him a chance, it was the only way she’d ever be able to see Eden, living a lie with him, poor clueless, sweet Alvaro who loved her. “Eden invited me over for a movie night…” Daisy glanced up at him when he drew nearer, smiling softly, “But I’ll be home early tomorrow if you want.” @alarcvn
the sound of the front door of the apartment falling shut behind him was a sound that nearly felt like liberation. class hours had drained every last stray bit of energy within his body, and at this point in time, he was nearly glad he had cancelled all of his plans for the night. simply because he felt as if daisy and himself had maybe not spent as much time together as they should have — or as he wanted to, and tonight was the time to catch up on lost hours together. even if it would merely be the two of them entangled on the couch while debating what movie to watch.
the backpack was swung from his shoulder and left on the kitchen table for the time being, noticing the presence of the ravenhaired girl. he reached out with his hand, fingers tangling around her wrist to pull her closer and peck her lips briefly. “ cancelled everything going for the rest of the night — i felt exhausted, and just kind of wanted to spend time with you, you know ? ” were his muttered words, corners of his lips forming into a soft smile as his fingers gently ran through her hand. “ you’re the best, mi amor. the absolute best. ”
he let go of her, after a last peck on the cheek, to dig into the pizza that he found on the countertop. he took one of the slices, taking a bite while he glanced over at daisy. his brows knitted together however at her mention of eden once more, simply leaving him nodding. “ oh, no — s’okay, ” he shook his head in order to exaggerate how he was okay with this, but maybe deep down he was not so much. the time they spent together was slowly but surely decreasing, and even now he felt second place to eden. something he had accepted for god knows how long, but something that started to sting slightly. “ just, take your time. i’ll be okay by myself for a little while. ”
