LACE AND THE MEANING OF FLOWERS

The flowers, that I associate with Lace, the ones that grow on the field during her second boss fight:

Those definitely look like white roses.

The meaning of white roses, according to the book “The Illustrated Language of Flowers”, compiled and edited by Mrs L. Burke, 1858, is:

Rose, White = I am worthy of you

Rosebud, White = Girlhood

I can’t help but think how both of them suit her so well!

“I am worthy of you” works for how Lace wants to be worth her mother’s love, endlessly trying to be worthy. I am worthy to be your daughter, Mother.

And “Girlhood” also works with how she was trapped in the role of a child, a little girl, her whole existence.

Was this intentional by Team Cherry?

Probably not, there are like 3 people in the world who care about the language of flowers (including me).

Am I thinking some thoughts about it anyway? Well yes, thank you for asking.
