Deco Sims  Part Two - because children are a pain in the ass, too

Oooookay another one of these! Yeeeey! Let’s see how many I can do before y’all get tired of my shit yeeee

This pack is focused on kids. There’s adults in it, too, but it was devised as a “getting out of school” pack. 

In this pack you will find 11 deco sims, each with 6 swatches. They each come with three skintones and two outfits. The 4 adults sims are in various “talking” poses. The 7 kids are so divided: 6 running kids, 3 with backpack and 3 without, and 1 waving kid with backpack. You should be able to find them by typing “sim” or “deco sim”, but they are all $5 and are under sculptures/misc deco/clutter.

Now, since these are taken from the Studio base model, unfortunately they all have the same face. Also, for this pack I’ve stuck with all Maxis features (skin, eyes, hair, outfits). 

In the pack you will also find three psd if you want to recolor the sims’ skintones/eyes/hair/etc.

It’s A Girl! Pose Pack

- 9 Group Poses w/ 5 Sims (mom, dad, nurse A, nurse B, and doctor)

- 4 Couple Poses

It’s a girl (at least in my case)! This pack can obviously be used for either sex! I added an additional pushing pose for a twin, as well as a variation on pose 9A and 9B but with mom holding two babies rather than one. I included a render preview of that in the download.

NOTE:

- I used THIS pillow for behind her back. I suppose its not needed but there will be a bit of a gap back there otherwise.

- You’ll need this “baby without a crib” mod found HERE

- For Pose 1 (also Twin Pose 1) you will need the “Empty Nest from the GTW pack. Use bb.showhiddenobjects cheat. I also highly recommend you download THIS VERSION to fix the shadow issue found in regular GTW ones.

- For pose 7 and 8 I used the “Keep Me Clean Metal Table” from GTW

- The baby skin I used above is found HERE

Sims 4 - Adidas Set

A combo of two clothing pieces for female sims. I’ve been holding on to this since forever because I didn’t have the time to finish it, but now it’s finally done. They’re basic clothing outfits to go jogging - or what not - in Adidas style, although I did leave some swatches without the brand’s design. I went for black-and-white, black on black and white on white, but there are some colors too.

They can be found in Everyday, Party and Athletic categories, available for Teens through Elders, all life forms, and are restricted for nude, randoms and situational outfits. | Hoodie: 15 swatches, Clothing Top > Sweatshirts. | Leggings: 12 swatches, Clothing Bottom > Skin Thight

Inspiration Vs. Imitation

Who understands the difference? Where do you draw the line?

Where does the flattery end and the blatant usurping tendencies begin?

I’m not trying to speak on behalf of anyone, but I’m pretty sure nobody likes when another person copies or tries to copy your craft. No matter how popular you are, what platform/game you play on. As a creative, I take great pride in myself and my craft because I put absolutely everything into what I do. It makes a part of my identity. And I know there are many, many people who do the same, especially in our community. Whether it’s creating, photo edits, Sims, scenes, RP storylines. There isn’t a single person who can tell me that when they put everything into something, it doesn’t rub them the wrong way when someone else comes along and tries to copy or replicate your efforts. And not in a flattering way, but in a way to gain clout as they see what you’re doing is getting attention.

It saddens me, though, that some of the younger simmers in our community don’t respect the time it takes to think of an idea, craft it and bring it to life. And a particular young person has been, on numerous occasions, called out for his blatant disrespect of creators’ work. And now? It appears he’s been following my every move, watching my wips, “creating” content that looks like mine right after I publish, and rushing to put theirs out before I do. That doesn’t make me feel good. I don’t want to post WIPs because of this person.

I’m going to need you reading this to recognise the difference between being inspired by someone, and trying to imitate them. Not everyone takes imitation as flattery; I certainly don’t. People will always recognise the real from the fake.

Inspiration is supposed to trigger your own imaginative spark to get your motor running. So don’t be surprised if when you say you’re inspired by someone, they hit you with a “why are you copying me” because you didn’t try to come up with your own ideas, designs or concepts.

Furthermore, all the clout chasing has to stop. What competition are you in? Why do you feel it so necessary to be accepted? The things you’re doing in your chase for recognition are annoying and upsetting people.

I’m just venting. I know they say “often imitated, never duplicated”, but im sorry enough is enough. I don’t often get to speak my mind, but today you will hear me.

All I have to say is be the best YOU you can be and don’t live in anyone’s shadow.

So this pack I started a couple months ago but I put it on hold to deal with literally this exact scenario in my real life. Watching my family members one by one say their goodbyes was the most heart wrenching and agonizing few days of my life. That said I’ve always been fascinated with raw emotion and different ways to capture it. And with this whole experience I just went through you just cant get much more raw than that. So afterward, sitting down and finishing this pack was a piece of cake. As usual my family makes excellent reference points.
