I just saw this photo of the newspaper being brought up again and someone mentioned about the misspelling of colbie

My brain has just decided to justify it by indicating that the real Nigel and the Nigel we are shown through Alex are entirely different. Aka the Colbie Nigel and the Colby Nigel

Or

Colbie Nigel no longer exists in a mortal plain, so that body, that boy in the newspaper, is not Colbie

We're seeing all this through Alexs memories right? In the scene where we see the family lineage from the Knights (I'm pretty sure) it's the ie spelling

This is the initial Nigel, not twisted by Alex's perspective

But this is not towards the end of their relationship, Alex is only just beginning to give into Nigel, to indulge, he's less so aware of how deep he has already actually fallen

Nigel shoots himself, he would forever haunt Alex that way wether or not he's willing to comply

Their relationship twists and shapes into its final form, Colbie exists within him, together united for eternity

big fan of the theory that if nigel & alex were to ever succumb to their obvious attraction to each other, it likely wouldn't be in the midst of a heated argument or a thunderous fight.

i like to think it would be in a quiet, reclusive moment - perhaps in the crawlspace; a vicinity that allows alex to discreetly puts his moral differences aside and listen intently as nigel guides him through his book of philosophical fixations.

a cause so macabre, yet alex finds himself wanting to know more, asking nigel questions of a substantive nature. he receives uncharacteristically patient and unequivocal responses from nigel, who moves closer as alex's lips mold tempting words, spoken with subliminal meaning. alex looks up as nigel's shadow dims the page his finger has been tracing, exhaling a soft, "what?" and yet, there are no traces of confusion on his face. and so, nigel bridges the space between them, pressing their lips together in a moment of fervent vulnerability, as alex's defenses crumble in tandem.

The inbetween cinematographic scenes to dissolve the homo erotic tension between two scenes are so beautiful that I cant appreciate them enough.

Wish the walls would close in and they would kiss.

This scene feels so intimate for some reason. The way they are angeled towards each other. The way they are sitting in that silence unmoving. And then the warm tone of this scene will forever amuze me. The family situation for the Colbies was way too cold and messed up yet their house has this warm yellow and green tone setting.

Someone who is unaware of the previous scene would never realise how overtly complicated and elaborate (also accurate) Nigel's plans were to kill them or how messed up the entire situation was. Because the residence is so warm toned. Nvm I am rambling and I myself am losing the vision of whatever i started.

Anyways this scene is so adorable and Nigel's little hmph while sitting down while Alex was just traumatized :(

the summer hikaru died but its 'nigel' coming back after the real nigel's death to haunt alex and "corrupt" him. the goop comes out of the side of his face that was blasted off by the shotgun. the entire story centers around 'nigel' wondering how much of his obsession stems from his own feelings versus the real nigel's feelings. who knows if theyll kiss (just like the movie)
