Filming took place at Costello's restaurant (sometimes referred to as Costello's Look Out House). The photographer was Ed Feingersh.

This series of pictures was taken for Redbook magazine. Feingersh accompanied the actress for a week to capture her "real" life in New York, away from the spotlight and Hollywood makeup.

However, the original photo series, taken by Ed Feingers in March 1955, was in black and white. This version is a modern digital coloring book.

The lip print on a paper napkin is a real trace of Marilyn Monroe lipstick.Marilyn often left such prints when she dabbed her lips after applying makeup. Similar napkins and scraps of paper with Monroe's lip prints later became collectibles and were sold at auctions for tens of thousands of dollars.

In the original black-and-white image, this print looks just like a dark spot, but in this colorized version, it has been restored to its characteristic red color.
