Albion's Albion Swords Preference

Did anyone ask for this? No? Too bad.

And choices that are 80% character based and cannot be trusted with accuracy when it comes to swords? No? t o o b a d.

Generally, I've included both cutting and thrusting swords to reflect the versatility of Albions and the fact that they often had very large armoury and seemingly very specific weapons for each occasion. The rest is just me wishing I can have them while assigning them to each Albions by design.

The thing I think I gathered is that the more acute the taper (the sharper, thinner it is on the edge) the more it is a thrusting sword? that are intended to thrust around exposed points on plate armours. Might be more useful for creatures with harder skin. Might not be very useful against ogres.

More extensive headcanons on the Albion members:

Fraser

Second in Command, elevated to Leader slash Chilliarch after the death of the Commander. Both legs were amputated above knee, marred with burn marks after suffering third degree burns. Despite that, he still worked to hold the Albion together by giving them a semblance of a familiarity.

Fraser is disciplined and would often remind his siblings of their duties. He's also considerate of others' limitations, taking notes on strengths and weaknesses and likes and dislikes. However, his form of affection and care is often overlooked because of their subtlety.

That said, Fraser and Oz has always been close friends and often wreck havoc together. More often than not it's an accident that got out of hand, but whenever it's not incidental, it can always be attributed to a prank war between the two.

Timothy

Tim is the more 'normal' of the bunch. Attentive to details and subtleties, he often notices and memorises quirks of various people, usually his sparring partners. His preferred weapon is a sword, and he usually prefers one handed swords.

Tim is also one of the few who had enough patience to learn things like drawing and cooking, though he rarely indulges in the former during his active years. Sometimes Oz asks him to draw unicorns with nail polish.

He's also more generous with his smiles, though when someone tries to talk to him more he retreats out of shyness.

Gillian

While Tim is shy, Gillian is simply quiet. She's not talkative and rarely outright shows her expressions, but the others have gotten used to her nudges and nods and understand them. However, she's not above doing mischief and sometimes quietly does it. That said, people already know that she's quite into pranks.

Gillian is the one they rely on for assessments. With her silence and covered eyes, she often blends in. No eye contacts.

If someone wakes up with lipstick or braided hair, she is the culprit.

Edna

The oldest of the living Albions, Edna always hold a sort of older-sister torch to them all. But she's closest to Oz, with their complementary shit-eating personalities as well as their similar fighting styles. Due to this, Edna often acts as a sort of advisor to him, trying to keep him from making the same mistakes she did.

Overall, though, she keeps an eye on them while maintaining the close but rough air-- she doesn't hesitate rough housing the kids, but she didn't push them too hard either. She's not into pranks, though, but this often just makes her the target of them-- IF the younger Albions manage to prod Oz to do it for them.

Oz always wondered why Hugh had a hard time looking at him in the eyes. Hugh just couldn't face him knowing that Scarlet had been the one to kill the majority of his family, And the fact that THAT was hidden. The fact that Scarlet was now someone Oz had to look after. The fact that Oz didn't know. It hit close to home. He couldn't accept that his friends' deaths were covered up, but at least he didn't have to protect the persons hiding the truth.

Gillian found Arago’s and Ewan’s auras to be unbearable to see. Both having resistance to the Brionac meant that they were candidates for the light, and it meant particularly bright aura. For most, it's magnificent. For her, it was beyond blinding. The one time she came unprepared, she took off her shirt and tied it on her head. How they reacted to being flashed was unknown, but there really wasn't much to see.

Character sketch for Gillian and Timothy.

There was this strange... character whose eyes were covered with bangs, and I couldn't help but want that to be an important design choice so I made them Gillian.

Lemme start with her. Gillian is a quiet person, with a slight difference to her gift of sensitivity-- her eyesight was several times stronger than other members, amplifying the auras surrounding everything. Her choice to bandage or otherwise cover her eyes stem from the fact that everything was just too bright for her to see comfortably.

The bandage provided more consistent cover over her eyes, although she preferred actual cloth headband of sorts. Her main method of seeing is actually through it, observing mainly auras and the way it flickered. (Nobody other than the Albions and some extremely adept compulsive liars could control auras-- it just wasn't taught)

Like other Albions, she could do both close and long range combat. However, she's more specialised in behaviour analysis and strikes silently.

Timothy. I don't actually have a detailed headcanon for him other than 1) he's one of the two surviving Albion from Scarlet's fiery hell and 2) he's scared shitless of her, while at the same time trying to put on a brave face because he refused to admit that he's still haunted by the nightmares. Although the attack happened perhaps around a year and a half ago, he still undergo therapy for the trauma. (kind of hard to deal with your family members literally melted in front of your eyes)

Timothy lost both his legs-- both below his knee, although they were uneven. Both legs are covered in scars of third degree burns.

After months of adjusting to Scarlet's presence in Arago's Round Table company, he receives a pair of prosthetic limbs and undergoes physical therapy.

Edna.

There's a mention of a "big sister Edna" (Kak Edna, in Indonesian import) and I just couldn't resist. It's notable because Fraser and Gillian are just that, names, while this one has a 'title'. I've no idea if that's the case in the English translation, but hey.

Anyway. Edna, MY version of her anyway, is probably kind of similar to Oz. I see her as a calculative person, with a 'happy' side that's also highly involved in her analysis of the situation. It's not a guise, per se, but she's good at using it as one. It's not quite Seth-level. She has always liked to tease and has a (bad) sense of humour, though it's even amplified post-injury.

Her retirement probably came along about a year or two before the story starts, to someone definitely not Scarlet. Her anger towards the girl stems mostly from her hurt and dead siblings. She knew Scarlet had been the one facing the Albion group based on descriptions, but chose to not tell Oz due to the knowledge that he would have to choose between loyalty to his task (and thus the country) and loyalty to his own makeshift family.

Ever since the Commander died, she became the oldest surviving member. She is roughly 6 years older than Oz.

'Ello. This is where I dump OCs I accidentally created for ARAGO, the dead Albion members mentioned in Oz's past.

This is largely due to one of the AUs the English fandom created, namely the Round Table AU, in which Arago and co. ends up saving and recruiting the four horsemen. This, however, creates a huge hole in which Oz would never forgive Scarlet if she actually killed all of his "family" so I came up with the solution in which not all of them are dead.

And here they are.
