It’s been quite a few months since we last updated. However, we’ve officially settled all financial matters...

As it turned out, our sales were not enough to give our contributors any more than two or three dollars each, so we voted and decided to donate the money we made to WWF (World Wildlife Fund). Above is proof of purchase. Please note: The head mod had to use their personal accounts to process all money, as PayPal was not an option for us due to some user policies. Therefore we’ve blocked out any potentially sensitive information pertaining to them.

Thank you for your patience with us for the past year plus. We can never thank our contributors and the general Shikatema fandom enough!

Just a quick update to say we’re getting really close! 

The reformatting of the zine for PDF-only sales is nearing completion. Once that’s finished, we’ll begin a new countdown for the re-opening of zine sales! We predict that the purchasing period will last approximately 1-1/12 months. So get ready!

Hello again!

This is a general announcement to let everyone know what we’ve been up to:

As of right now, all sales have been refunded to those who bought any zine products (including a PDF). If you have not received a refund, please wait approx. 1-2 more weeks for the transaction to process. If by this time your money has not been refunded, PLEASE email us so we can find out what went wrong.

In other news, the mod team is currently in talks with our merch artists to determine what they’d be most comfortable using their designs for as we move forward. We are also in the middle of transitioning to Gumroad for our upcoming PDF sales.

Another update will come soon and with it--hopefully--the period during which the zine will be open for purchase!

ANNOUNCEMENT (9/14/2019)

Hello again,

Over the course of the past week, the mod team has been collecting responses from our artists, writers, and merch artists in regard to our next course of action. As of today, the majority vote of our participants is to proceed as follows: We will be refunding all sales and moving forward with a digital-only zine. The zine will now be sold at a reduced price in hopes of still garnering revenue to distribute to our participants. However, if the amount made does not total over 5 dollars per participant, we will look toward donating the money to charity. Please give us time to refund those who have purchased the zine. We will then revamp the store in order to sell the digital copies for cheaper.

Thank you all for sticking with us as we continue to navigate our way through this journey. Your support means everything <3

First and foremost, the mod team at the Shikatema: A Leaf in the Wind zine apologize for our lack of updates and activity. We understand that this is unprofessional behavior, especially considering that pre-orders were supposed to have ended approximately two weeks ago.

However, we unfortunately must put the zine on a minor pause. Sales have not gone according to plan. Therefore, the mod team is discussing our next course of action. We promise to keep you updated from here on out. Expect a new information weekly from now on, as we wish to be as responsible and forthcoming as possible.
