October is over

Just a little under two months until my program is over! It's sad to say that this time around, I'm actually excited for it to end. 

Two-time (or more) alumni really aren't kidding when they say your second, third, fourth, etc, program won't be the same as your first.

I knew I would have a totally different experience than my first one, but I thought I would have just the same amount of fun, if not more.

I am having a good time down here, but I can't help but fall through phases of depression. This second program, although still good, just doesn't live up to my first experience. 

Needless to say, I'm excited for it to end, not so much to pack up and get out of here and go back home, but I'm excited to just change my living situation and put myself in an environment I actually want to be in. Even though going straight home is AWFULLY tempting after some of my family just visited. I pretty much cried my eyes out when they left. Good thing I have an amazing boyfriend to literally hold my hand through it all.

A HUGE part of me is still crossing my fingers and toes for a Professional Internship that I'm still in progress for, the other smaller chunk is just waiting for my CP status to go seasonal so I can fly back and visit home before I make any official moves into an apartment down here. ALSO so I can make it home to my mom's for a late Christmas celebration, without too much delay!

Anyways, my family visit was awesome. We successfully completed 4 parks in 2 days and had a great third relaxing day! It was a ridiculously short vacation, but it was VERY MUCH needed. 

I'm going to stop now before I continue to ramble. ADIOS!

Tomorrow I'm going with Molly, Carlos, probably Alexis, and maybe MJ to Magic Kingdom, then heading over to Hollywood Studios later to FINALLY watch Fantasmic! Sometime during the day it sounds like we're probably going to eat at an actual dining location! (EXCITING!)

Thursday I'm working over at Animal Kingdom again and right after I'm going to the cast party where I heard there will be pumpkin carving!

Friday, I'm giving away my shift and hanging out with MJ, then dinner at Whispering Canyon with him, Danny, and probably Mari. 

SO EXCITED!

ALSO.... ALL THAT FOOD! Makes not being able to get groceries this week that much better. haha

BRAG ABOUT ME

Quickly speaking on good things said to me...

Not too long ago I picked up a shift at DAK... they loved me there and asked me to pick up more shifts. :)

One of my coordinators, who is pretty strict on me, actually comments on me being one of his best cast members when he's coordinating. He also forgets that I'm just a CP.

I got another photo of the week last week! ALSO, two of my photos are nominated this week!!

I was working in China today and was actually worried about how all my photos were turning out, especially my night shots. When I finally ended my shift and went back to base, both coordinators told me at the same time that QA called about my photos. QA = Quality Assurance. The only time(s) they have called about my photos is when I allowed something in the photo to happen that I should not have... Thankfully that hasn't happened since my days of training... until today. I asked what was wrong with my photos and they said they were horrible. They finally fessed up and told me QA called about how great my ENTIRE day of photos turned out. EVERYTHING WAS CONSISTENTLY AWESOME! And what's more awesome is it's SUPER rare for QA to make a call like that! My coordinators didn't even know they did such things!

Also, we have a new photopass photographer on our team. He came from QA. He recognized my name and before introducing ourselves the first thing he told me was, "I'm from QA and I marked a lot of your photos as good ones."

PHONE INTERVIEW.

GUESS WHAT! 

I finally put my foot down and applied for regular Professional Internships today!

Already I got denied one, only because I don't know any Japanese... perhaps my brother should apply for Guest Communications!

Anyways, I now have my phone screening set up for Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 in the early afternoon.  I'm excited and terrified at the same time. My phone screening will be for Theme Park Operations Management, Public Relations PI, and a bunch of Alumni Only PI's. 

Yes, I already was denied two management internships, but I honestly didn't expect to get those ones. I would be very surprised if I did.

Now I have tonight, tomorrow, and all Thursday to prepare for the phone interview!

9/12/13

Yesterday was beach day! It was fun, but not the same as when I was a child. What is still the same is how sunburned I get. YAY! I did find a sand dollar though, a WHOLE one, which made me happy.

There was also a German event, I didn't stay long... I was literally there for 5 minutes to get in and out for food. As much as I would have stayed and enjoyed, there just isn't enough energy in the day.

So I came back and had a Tinkerbell marathon with Alison.

I also got a very bad stomach ache, which carried over to today. Let's just say whatever is in my stomach can't decide which way it wants to come out. -.-

I also applied for management internships which close today! I feel like my big girl panties are on and ready to go. Kind of. I still just feel like sleeping.

BUT before I know it I will be getting ready for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party while everyone else is packed into Hollywood Studios (which I may go to after/later) I'll be meeting basically the same characters with probably shorter lines AND GETTING ME SOME CANDY with Kristina! She will be Maleficent, and I will be Scar. I'm so pumped for this. :)

ALSO I FOUND PEOPLE TO TAKE MY SHIFT FOR DAPPER DAY. I'M FINALLY DOING DAPPER DAY!!!

Had a DPI dinner last night, plus a couple extra kids. Bonding with these kids was a ton of fun, I wish we all did this sooner. As far as I know we were missing 3 cps.... I think. Haha it's hard to keep track of all the super new ones. 1/2 off appetizers was the best thing ever invented. Only spent $13 including tip and a drink and still came home with a lot of leftovers!

Real life "Bad Girls Club"?

Some real serious stuff happened upstairs. Yelling, crying, and throwing of chairs. I'm just happy none of that happened in our apartment. Security had to be called because we thought someone got body slammed upstairs... but it was just a chair. Our one roommate that doesn't really get along with any of us is officially moving out tomorrow. Cool. 

That was just a lot of excitement for one night... those girls were only here for 3 weeks, HOW IS THERE THAT MUCH DRAMA ALREADY? Just sayin'.

BUT I FINALLY MADE A GAY BFF TONIGHT. YEEEEEEEEEEEES ON YES. One of my favorite kinds of friends!

I survived!

First time ever working three doubles in a row. My coordinators said it was stupid and my manager said I shouldn't do it anymore because of how exhausted I became.

Well I did it!

Day 1/3 (Sept 1, 2013): I picked up a MK MS character shift SPECIFICALLY because it said character! But then I ended up going to Casey's Corner and having my baracoda stop scanning 30 minutes into my shift. About 1.5 hours later, I finished off my shift in the View. Later that evening I finished off at EPCOT. The evening was a blur, but I just remember that my morning shift at MK felt so quick that my evening shift at EPCOT was just draaaaaagging on.

Day 2/3 (Sept 2, 2013): I was MK West! These shifts hardly EVER show up on the hub, so I didn't hesitate to grab it! When I first got there I ended up with the task of taking pictures of the spitting camels. I knew this was a secondary location to Aladdin and Jasmine, so I thought I was going to take over for them, but I picked up another assignment and got to work with Chip and Dale instead. They were hilarious and it makes me mad that we don't have any photopass with Chip and Dale at EPCOT because they're awesome and it would give us more characters to work with! Then that evening I went to EPCOT and they kept trying to give me outside positions, but because we went 101 (lightning in the area) I kept going back inside for safety.... then they just decided to push me into C-Spot and it was soooo fun playing with the characters because the park was pretty dead that night.

Day 3/3 (Sept 3, 2013): I picked up a regular old MK MS shift, so I was expecting to go play on Main Street again and not almost get run over by the parade unlike the first day. Instead I got to spend my entire shift with Cinderella!! It was amazing and a GREAT way to end my 3 doubles in a row at MK. Working with princesses is just such a touching thing... I can't even. Then at EPCOT, I got the luck of the draw and ended up in C-Spot twice in a row working with all three characters! I really loved hanging out with one of my favorite friend of Pluto as well. This was all followed by working about 1.5 hours outside with flew by!

I also got more than 5 hours of sleep last night. It was amazing.

I had planned to go play in water today... buuuuuuuuuuuuut all the standing up for so many hours during those three doubles did take its toll on me... My bad ankle (I twisted and possibly hairline fractured it two days before my first program and it never healed correctly) is making me limp all over the place once again.

Yay. 

So Kristina assisted me back to base last night and my boyfriend assisted me home making sure I held onto him getting onto and off curbs. Yeah, he can be nice sometimes.

Maybe I'll just take it easy today. :)

I survived my first main street shift! I got lost in the tunnels on my way back to base... and so much for working with characters... I ended up on main street near caseys corner and in the view. I still had fun! And everything is so different in MK.

7:30 AM.

I have to wake up in 6 hours to get ready for work. Yet, I lay here on my bed staring at my Main Street knickers and waiting for new extra hours to drop on the hub so I can pick them up and thinking about how a mother the other day said I work really well with kids and how I'd be a great mom when I start having my own. Not ready for that yet, which also reminds me of what my coworker once said...

Every time she sees a cute kid she wants to pick them up and take them home (surprise adoption!) and have cute babies of her own.... Every time she sees ugly or bratty kids she wants to tie up her tubes and never have children.

I just want to pass out and let the next three days be over so I can go to the beach already.

Finally met Alyssa today! (8/30/13) Hello!!

I'm so dead excited to be working in MK, people think I'm crazy, but Sunday I get to work with any MS character, including the princesses! And Monday I get to work with any "west" characters! I'm mostly really excited because all the characters I could work with are characters I've never worked with before AND about half of them are face characters! The first and last time I worked with a face character was during training!

I am also excited to work on MS because all the fall decorations are so purdy. :3

Anything else exciting happening.... Wednesday is beach day with a few of my DPI coworkers! And Thursday I finally get to go to a food truck roundup with the boyfriend, unless he doesn't get the day off. :P

I'm exhausted and VERY excited all at the same time.

Finally connected tumblr to my phone. In other words, after this post, a lot of images will probably be uploaded from my phone, until I'm certain I can take my nice camera out for a stroll without being paranoid of random thunder storm attacks!

Speaking of which, did I mention that not too long ago the power went out in different locations across Walt Disney World property due to a funtastic storm?

Yep, the lights on Spaceship Earth (EPCOT's giant golf ball) went out along with all of Furture World's music. Guess who was forced an ER??? ME... probably one of the only CPs willing to work extra hours. :P

Speaking of storms, just heard some thunder... yay.

Okay! Time for lunch, catching up on Masterchef, and getting ready for work. Tomorrow is my Friday and I'm SO looking forward to the next couple of days off! WEEE.

So much to update, but no time... and crappy internet.

Disney has finally got to me though. Yesterday I pretty much crossed the bridge of insanity. All the heat and I was outside almost all the time this whole week I worked... I finally broke down and just cried in the parking lot in my boyfriend's car 30 minutes before my shift started.

I just couldn't do "happy" anymore and needed a good cry.

Yet once I walked into work, the happy mask went up because I'm a damn good cast member.

I think my coordinators see that too. Lately when I'm in the view I become one of the people the coordinators request to run errands.

Anyways, post cut short. Back to work I go. Hi ho hi ho hi ho. 

Two more days until roommate bonding in Hollywood Studios and Ohana's for dinner...

Followed by 7 work days in a row...
