Hi, y'all. So here I am with another post about a professional internship phone screen. Let me start by saying that I feel beyond blessed to have even had the two phone screens that I have had. Working for Disney again would be such an honor but I also understand it takes a lot to even have them look at your resume and consider you for something like this. #blessed ANYWAY, my interviewer's name was Toni. The phone screen was set for 11 am and she called at 10:58 (funny because that's exactly how long the call lasted too, 10 minutes and 58 seconds). I was at work until 4 am last night and woke up at 8 and immediately started stressing. I felt so unprepared and I didn't know what to research or what to be thinking about but I know that I really want this internship or something similar. I intern with a restaurant in my town handling their social media accounts so a lot of what she asked me was specifically in regards to that but i'll try to list the questions generally in case someone doesn't have professional social media experience. - She first verified my graduation date, which again like espn interview, has changed since I applied so she changed that information. - She verified that I was a dcp alum - She made sure that I knew I would need to provide my own transportation and probably housing if I were offered the position - Next, she asked why I wanted to return to Disney and why particularly for this internship - She asked what I knew about the characters and what their importance was to me - She asked about my experience with social media - She asked if I handled copyrights - She explained that marketing and these types of settings can often get busy and hectic and asked how I would handle that or how I have handled that with my experience in a media professional setting - She asked what kind of experience I had with powerpoint and excel - She asked if I did analytics That was really all she asked, it only lasted 10 minutes and honestly felt a little rushed but I tried to say as much as I could think to say so that when she sent my information to the hiring manager they might like what they read. Usually these interviews are very interactive so keep in mind that my answers to these questions triggered her to ask other questions and those are the tough ones because they take you off guard and you have to think of what to say on the spot. Usually I like to loosely go off of notes I wrote down about what I wanted to talk about prior to the interview. I then asked her if she could tell me a little more about the role since she only really said the internship title in the beginning and the job listing is a little vague. She told me that this group was responsible for promoting all of the new character m&g's that were on the rise. For example, when Moana started meeting a few months ago the group arranged the setup and lighting and queue and the social media team was responsible for updating guests on its progress and advertising its success. I asked then if this media was just posted generally to the disney parks accounts and she said generally yes but their media could be shared on various other accounts. I'm hoping that it went well enough that I get another interview. I want something like this so much honestly. And I hope this was helpful to everyone that might be interviewing for the same or a similar position! Sending pixie dust to you all ✨
