Pillar of smoke fuming from a war zone, shrills from exasperated throats, her spirit was crafted from the wounds of the world. Hair as black as the night, eyes hollowed like the souls sheâd be destine to slaughter, Alecto Carrow was a women born to be a...
Tell us your name/alias (again)!: My alias is Ella, which also happens to be one out of my many nicknames. My full name is Elisabeth though but it would be weird if any of you called me that.
What have you found most challenging about writing the character(s) you have chosen? There are a few things I found challenging about writing Alecto even though I really love her. First of all Iâm a person who gets bored by thing REALLY quickly, leading to multiple problems in life but aside from that to the fact that itâs incredibly hard for me to stick with one character for a while. Often I lose interest and muse too quickly and the amount of time I already spent with this baby is pretty high for my standards, still every now and then I feel as if writing her is impossible for me or Iâm stuck. Second would be that nearly everything about Alecto if pretty fucking dark. This can get annoying every now and then when you would like a character who is just genuinely happy or at least manages to get close to people. Aside from that Alecto is one of those who is really strict about not having any kind of contact with the enemy aside from fighting which means Iâm not really able to write everything with everybody, so it means some plots are just off limits. Rant finished.
What was your favorite thing in this RP thus far? (Whether it is a thread you wrote, a particular prompt or challenge, an OOC experience, or something else, let us know!): The people! Right from the start I got to know a bunch of amazing people here and you still havenât stopped to amaze me. I really do love you guys and youâre making my days a lot brighter. Everybody is just so supportive and nice to each other and well, I appreciate that.
Have you formed any ships in this RP yet? (Whether for your own character or others):
This is a difficult one but Iâll try to write down a few: Xenodora, Lucissa, Cassandra/Amos. I havenât been able to read a lot lately so Iâm probably missing all the great stuff.
I have a bunch of plots/relationships of my character I like, though not all of them are of a romantic nature: Carrowzest, Narcissa/Alecto (which would be what? Nalecto? Blarrow?), Xenolecto, Lestrarrow (which of course is my very own shipname for Rab/Ali), Cassandra/Alecto and seriously nearly everything I ever plotted with any of you.
What season do you look forward to the most?
What is your favorite pizza topping? I love tuna, I love spinach and salmon but most importantly: A LOT of cheese pls.
Give us an unpopular or controversial opinion that you have. I think democracy in itâs current form is a failing system and not sustainable for all western countries that are suffering under demographic changes. Iâm also quite aware there isnât a better alternatice atm but I think we need to change the system in order to stop the old from having all the power about the youthâs future. I think this is a problem that is becoming more and more relevant these days.
Aside from that Iâm a little left winged when it comes to politics so there is a lot more where that came from. For example I think taking refugees in should be considered normal and our duty as a lot of those people are fleeing problems caused by us western societies. Weâre doing great because theyâre doing horrible. Itâs time to give back.
What does your the last text you sent say? Who was it to? What about the last text you received:
Last text I received was my best friend telling me I should tell her when to call me, the last text I sent was the answer to that.
Tell us a brief synopsis of the weirdest dream youâve ever had: Very briefly it would be: I was chased through a public library by my older brother and a lion, it was a real hunt and it took quite a while. In the end I was saved by the pope though. I had this dream as a child, when me and my brother didnât use to get along too well. Also idk why the pope?
Do you have any tattoos? Of what? Where? If not, do you want any? Why or why not?: No, donât have any tattoos and also donât want any. I just donât feel the need to, itâs nothing that would fit me really well and also itâs fucking expensive mate.
What do you usually eat for breakfast?:
Nothing, which is really bad I know.
What is/was your strongest subject in school?: That would be Politics and English. Although I was pretty much just as good at my theatre course and philosophy.
Do you drive? If you do, what kind of car do you have?:
No, because I donât have a car.
Fun fact: My parents donât have a car either, we always travelled by train/bus and I can tell you it DOES work out just fine.
What is your favorite creative pastime? (Art, cooking, music, writing, reading, etc): I like all of them even though Iâd say that writing/reading and baking takes the cake... pun not intended. I FRIGGIN LOVE BAKING THOUGH!!
Cats or dogs and why?
Dogs but cats are so great too and right now I would probably rather want a cat because I donât feel like itâs as needy as a dog. But generally speaking just give me something furry that wants to cuddle with me and I will love you forever.
What is your dream travel destination? Everywhere? Even though I have a tiny little crush on both Scottland and Canada. But also everywhere in Italy? I just love that country.
Narcissa had been trying to give Alecto a serious look but a laugh escaped her lips and she found herself unable to stop smiling at the girl on the bed. When Alecto came into Narcissaâs life, the older girl finally got a chance to be the one looking after someone. She was used to being the one that everyone tried to protect, and having Alecto by her side truly felt like having a little sister. And like so many of Narcissaâs relationships she could not pinpoint the moment when the roles had reversed. The blonde had no doubt that Alecto was now the one looking out for her, the one protecting her, and she felt like the luckiest person in the world. To love and be loved, there was truly no greater feeling. âIâll wrap myself on tinsel just to have you singing all nightâ she said before walking to the closet to pull out another gown, âsee this is why ordering different colors and designs are always a mustâ she said putting the dress against her so Alecto could give her opinion, âand I hope you know that you are not getting away with wearing black for my weddingâ Narcissa said matter-of-factly.Â
She listened to Alectoâs reasons and shook her head with a smile. âWhatâs wrong with his face?â Narcissa asked faking concern, âand have in mind that I only ask because I donât want my future children getting picked onâ she finished with a laugh. Narcissa walked to the bed and gave Alecto a quick hug, since the girl looked miserable while nursing a hangover Narcissa knew she would not be quick enough to dodge her, taking her by surprise was the only way Narcissa could sneak some affection. âThank you.â Â
Seeing Narcissa that light hearted and happy had become rare over the last few month. The blonde had always been an unusual part of the death eaters, she had always been the one worrying about the well being of everybody else and the recent amount of fights had been taking a toll on her. While Ali herself feared neither injuries nor the possibility of death she knew Narcissa was worrying her pretty mind enough for both of them and even though she wouldnât admit it she liked that feeling. Alecto never really felt as if a lot of people would miss her if she were gone but she was quite sure her friend would. âI didnât quite think that through, did I? Even though the thought of you wrapped in tinsel is quite appealing. Youâd probably look really pretty in it though, meanwhile Iâd look like a singing moron.â The brunette thought out loud, a grin still plastering her face. On days like these life seemed so simple, so good. Alecto wasnât used to it, wasnât used to just having a good time with a friend but she sure did enjoy it. âOh well, you could have just used a spell or something and turned it blue but whatever, right?â She teased, wiggling her eyebrows a little. âHowever I think this would be a great choice because my mother would love this dress. Also I donât quite see why I shouldnât. Black is classy and isnât that what your wedding should be. Also weâre burrying your freedom so itâs pretty fitting to the occasion.â She knew she was being snarky and Narcissa didnât view her wedding this way but still... the young Carrow just couldnât quite get herself to understand.
âI donât know? There is just something weird about it, besides I wouldnât want to marry a man prettier than myself, he probably even uses beauty products.â A snort escaped her lips as she shook her head. Being distracted with the thought of the Malfoy heir she didnât see the older girl coming and all of the sudeen got her wrapped around herself. âUgh, youâre welcome.â She said reluctantly patting her back. âBut now bugger off, you know Iâm not a hugger.â
The flat was set and clean for the first time in weeks. A fire was burning, logs crackling as the warm embers danced over them. A bottle of Ogdenâs Finest sat in a bucket of ice, two tumbler glasses sat beside it waiting to be filled with the amber liquid. A finely rolled joint beside that, and a black candle lit on each end of the coffee table. Two thick, warm blankets sat draped over the couch with a throw pillow on each end. There was even snacks sat on the counter in preparation. Amycus surveyed his surroundings in satisfaction; he had done well.
Nights like these had become more and more scarce as the years flew by. The twins were lucky to have a decent night together once a month, and he would be damned before either of them missed the last one of the year. Anyone else might mistake this for a date but in truth, it was nothing of the sort. There was nothing quite like a night with his twin to ease his mind, to help him sort out the complications that had arose in their daily lives - it was down time and damn near therapeutic to his chaotic mind. If he wanted it to be comfortable then so be it. She was more than his twin, after all - Alecto was his very best friend. She deserved the best.
At the sound of a loud CRACK! outside their door, Amycus began pouring the fire-whiskey into two glasses and was already handing it off to her as she walked in. âWelcome home.â He said with a small grin, raising his glass in cheers as he casually took his place on the couch. It was quite obvious that she would want some time to change and get herself comfortable; he himself was clothed in soft lounge pants and a relaxed tee that he wore around the home. âTake your time.â
The day had been exhausting so far, she had been up since early in the morning since The Dark Lord had ordered her to a meeting and afterwards she had spent the rest of the day running errands, stopping by at Narcissaâs and talking about the wedding. The Carrow girl still wasnât quite convinced her friend was doing the right thing but she finally came to the conclusion there was nothing she could do to stop her so she could just as well try her best to help. Not that Narcissa would actually need any help or Alecto actually knew anything about weddings, still she had been sitting next to Cissy for the entire afternoon giving her opinion on several decisions that had to be made.Â
During the whole time her thoughts kept wandering off to another wedding, the one between her brother and Isabella Greengrass. Their engagement had just been announced to the twins and ever since it was hard for Alecto to think about anything else. Isabella sure was one of the people sheâd consider to be her friend still she was not even close to being good enough for Amy, but would anybody ever be?Â
Stepping out of the house Ali realized it had already gotten dark outside and quickly decided to apparate instead of using the chance to take a walk. After everything she just wanted to get home as fast as possible, secretly hoping her brother would be there too. They hadnât had a quiet moment after christmas yet and there was a lot to talk about. Stepping into the apartment a smile instantly appeared on her face as Amy stood near the door offering her a drink. Home it was indeed. âIt is as if you read my mind.â She answered, taking the glass out of his hand, instantly taking a sip. Her gaze quickly wandered over everything her brother had set up and it was truly perfect.Â
âAlright, Iâm just gonna grab something more comfortable, be back in a sec. Donât start smoking without me.â Her answer was accompanied by a smirk as she got rid of her shoes and made her way towards her bedroom. Helping herself to an oversized pullover and some warm socks she got changed at record speed. This was the closest do actual christmas spirit they would ever get this year and Alecto already knew she had to enjoy every second of it because moments like that had gotten rare. âAlright, here I am.â She announced as she stepped back into the living room, sitting down on the couch next to him, quickly grabbing one of the blankets. âI canât believe weâre finally both home for one night.âÂ
Shaking her head in disbelieve she looked at Rab. âYouâre impossible Lestrange and of course you will. Amy will probably come home and think I bloody killed somebody on the couch. Which I would never do, because itâs a nice couch...â For a second Alecto actually thought she might have done something terrible, watching him nearly unconscious, his face clearly expressing the agony he mustâve been going through. The thought of losing him to her own inability was too hurtful to actually process so when he extended his arm to grab the bottle next to her a released sigh escaped her lips.
Watching him down a few gulps of the whiskey she just sat there, more relieved than she ever felt before. His first words directed at her made her grin a little. âWell, those are idiots and to be honest I wouldnât have come back for any of them.â She answered, shrugging a little. But it was the truth, there werenât many people Ali would risk her life for, actually there were really little. Following his gaze to her arm she realized her own injury for the first time ever since they reached the flat. âForget about it, itâs nothing. It barely even hurts. But I do agree with the putting them down. As soon as youâre on your feet and ready weâre gonna find out who those dickheads were and hunt them down. You donât get away with something like that.â She promised as she went on taking care of his wounds, now that they already went through the hardest part the rest seemed easy to Lecto. Mumbling the spells needed in order to fix him up she kept a wary look at him the entire time. âWeâre nearly done. Weâll need to get you out of that shirt though, there are a bunch of cuts on your arms they might expand to your torso.â
Before she could continue doing so his words made her stop. She herself hadnât spend a single thought on what this whole situation must have meant but he oviously already realized. âYouâre right, somebody must have tipped them off.â Her mind was already going through the ranks of death eaters, trying to figure out who could be the traitor. âI didnât try yet... was too busy trying to keep you alive.â She answered his question, a grin on her face. âHowever you seem to be doing rather good, already thinking of all those things we need to do next.â
Well, youâll have to try a little harder than that in order to find out. There are a few secrets that need to be kept otherwise it would kill the fun.
âBut you want to know who really is a fucking pain in my ass? Alice Prewett. I always thought McKinnon was the most annoying Gryffindor skank but I really think the Prewett girl might be close.â
