PAST
Ever since he could remember, trouble never seemed to be far behind Isaac. He had a good heart, but when everyone constantly call you ‘bad’, you can’t help but begin to believe it. With nothing else to live up to, Isaac made good on the label that had landed him in jail a few times. It wasn’t until he was in his late twenties and nearly bankrupt that life came around and gave him a good kick in the ass. Always able to argue himself out of any situation, Isaac excelled in Law School. And the things that he wasn’t so good at, well, he had someone else do. When it comes to good and evil, Isaac is the latter of the two; because of him, many bad men are still walking without chains.
It didn’t take long for Isaac’s reputation as the go to man for dirty deeds to catch the eye of Vincent Smith. After getting Isaac out of jail and revealing the truth behind his birth, Vincent employed him as an accomplice. Overtime Isaac resented his boss for the things he forced Isaac to conceal and he began to pull away from the Originals.
I.
Isaac knew this day was coming from the moment he was activated. The Originals were well connected and their influence seemed to stretch across the globe, something he learned from personal experience. So as the world went to hell, he saw the takeover as an opportunity. It was possible that the Originals had bitten off more than they could chew, spread themselves too thin. With their focus now expanded throughout the city and the world, he was able to move about freely plotting his revenge with minimal interference.
Progress was slow in the beginning, which infuriated him. Even with the help of the rest of the Resistance Isaac just didn’t have the amount of Original technology he would need to better equip them for a proper attack against the Originals. However, soon the problem was solved for him after a human uprising went much further than anyone had expected. Raiding the Original’s collection of weapons, Isaac became a kid in a candy store. Of course there was still a problem. All the guns and technology they had stolen was knocked offline by an Original failsafe.
II.
Isaac put his energy into finding a way to make everything they had taken from the Viceroy operational once again. Shooting pure energy converted from battery cells meant that the Originals couldn’t block them or even reflect the ammunition using telekinesis. Although he had no intention of ever having to use the guns himself he knew that in the hands of the Resistance this technology would be a threat to even the Originals. It would become an invaluable tool in the war against his former oppressors.
III.
After the Originals finally broke the Government the Resistance was there to pick up the pieces. Isaac hated it. He wouldn’t stand by and just allow the agents to find safety among them, and many of his fellow Second Generation agreed with him.
Sharing secrets with the Government for their own gain was one thing, living side by side with them as if they weren’t created to hunt down people like him was an entirely different story. But once again, he found out too late that his hands were already tied. This union of the two factions was happening whether he wanted it to or not. So he did as he always did, Isaac adapted. He kept his eyes open and continued to tinker, saving the best things for his brothers and sisters of the Resistance.
Sure they were fighting a war against the Originals, but that didn’t mean he’d forget the atrocities committed by the agents against himself and people like him. Isaac was no hero, but if there was one thing he did know it was vengeance. He’d serve the agents up on a silver platter, all the while helping to keep the Resistance safe and a threat to all those that stood against them.
CONNECTIONS
Lillie Ward: The two found each other in a very dark part of both their lives. It was a relationship of convenience that ended as quickly as it started, but both learned a lot from each other even though they ended up on opposite sides of the war.
Leona Craig: During the human uprising, everyone was out for themselves and Isaac was no different. Which is why it surprised even himself that he came to Leona’s aid, helping her to safety when the Abbey had been destroyed in the riots.
Chris Foster: Chris wasn’t Isaac’s biggest fan, and the feeling was mutual. However, both men put aside their differences to help Chris understand and master his ability.
Ryan Johns: Isaac had a short lived but intense romance with Ryan’s sister. When she was murdered it sent the lawyer over the edge and only Ryan was able to talk him back to New York.
