I DONâT WANNA BE YOUR H E R O
â ALEKSANDR BRIDGEÂ / 40Â / FORENSICS
Aleks is portrayed by JAMES DâARCY and played by BIANCA.
I JUST WANNA FIGHTÂ WITH EVERYONE ELSE
Born and raised in San Francisco, Aleks always had an appreciation for the city life and how busy it was. His father was a detective for the San Francisco Police Department and always brought him into work with him after Aleks got out of school because his mom was a chef at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis and worked long hours, all except on the weekends.
It was in San Francisco that Aleksandr grew interested in detective work, but mostly forensics. Sure, detectives did important work, but he always thought that the forensic scientists did more important work. Without them, the detectives wouldnât have anything to go on. However, just as he was getting really into his fatherâs detective work, the Loma Prieta earthquake hit San Francisco, and at the age of fourteen, Aleks moved north to Saint Helens, Oregon with his parents.
It was in Saint Helens that he realized he was more of a smaller town kind of guy. He still shadowed his father at work, wanting to know everything that was happening in the town. Though he picked up on something that he wasnât sure he liked or not. His father was making deals. He was getting into the nitty gritty of the underground scene, making connections with this person and that. He went behind his boss, went behind the other officers and detectives to get the information that he needed.Â
It wasnât until he was in college at Stanford University that he understood why his father was doing what he did. Sometimes, it was justâŚ. essential to the job. Ignore what someone was doing and heâd get information. He never told anyone about his revelation, though. That is, until his wife came along.
The two met at a sermon and the rest was honestly history. Five years later, they were married. She was a detective, he was still a forensic scientist. After they graduated and got their degrees, the two decided to move to Littleton, Colorado for job openings at their police department.
Years into their job, they were nicknamed the âDream Teamâ. Aleks and Dominika were both incredibly good at their job, solving almost every case that was thrown at them. That is, until an old case was dug up due to similar victims showing up. A serial killer was still alive and well in Littleton and was never caught.
There was a rumor surrounding the caseâ whoever got too close, was killed. That didnât scare the dream team, though. They soldiered on, and eventually gave the rest of the police department enough courage to be soldiering on with them. They were extremely close to capturing the serial killer.
And then the inevitable happened. Dominika was murdered on the street one night after walking the dog. By the time paramedics arrived at the scene, it was too late. Aleks knew it was the serial killer and so did the rest of the police department. This was his last straw, but as the case now became personal to Aleks, he was forced to take a leave with pay.
Not being able to chase after the serial killer was driving him insane, the grief over his dead wife making it even worse. It took the police department a year to finally catch the man, but it was too late. Heâd killed himself and left Aleks with absolutely no closing. The police department in Littleton allowed him to come back after the case was closed, but he just couldnât do it. His wifeâs empty chair brought back too many memories. He had to get out.
Thus he moved to Aldyria, taking up another job in their police department. Heâs only been in the town for a short four years, but the memory of his wifeâs blood on his hands is still fresh in his memory. Though now, heâs more determined than ever to close whatever case is thrown his way, always quiet, always closed off.
