The Compelling Reasons for Sketching
You’ll be by yourself more than with your team and your users. (And the ideas still need to be churning…) So spend that time sketching.

Project
After four cans of pure concentrated caffeination, my project was complete.
Conclusion,
everyone was super great on the day of presentation, and sharing our ideas was just as exciting.
Today I downloaded the Great Lightsaber app to toy around with. There seems to be a plentitude of these apps on the app store, which clearly indicates that fans really do enjoy these, or at least to an extent. However, the experience is a little underwhelming... After using the app for a couple of minutes it gets tiresome and there really is no incentive to open this app again--however, I'm sure it may have some fun unconventional uses, like at raves, maybe... The app would probably want to focus in on this issue, and maybe add in a single player game to give users a reason to actually come back to this app, or keep it open for a longer period of time.
Day 1
We were tasked with redesigning something local today--the two choices given were either the MTA or Citi Bikes. Since the weather was so great, or perhaps because of the Citi Bike being the new kid on the block, the majority chose to take up questioning the citibike's many flaws. The general consensus with my group was that the first time user experience had a terrible learning curve, especially for New York standards--I mean five minutes learning something in public view, and not being a tourist is rubbing your NY reputation the wrong way. To alleviate this symptom, this big block of instructions as seen above would have to go, and would need to be replaced by something less cluttered, and more modern--also noted, was the need to emphasize the use of the app, the aesthetic appearance of the bike, and a better lock system to attract more cyclers to board this bike.
Hello,
Lexi with the Lightsabers here, hoping for a great journey with the team! Even though I have not met everyone yet--I am hoping we all will at some point--I know we have embarked on a really great journey together. After hearing the many backgrounds, risks, and struggles everyone has gone through, and is going through, it makes the experience all the more surreal, in fact, special. After all, we all have given up a lot, but yet we all have that one thing, that one spark in common!
I don't think I have to explain much else really, because I am here for the many reasons we all are. So here's to successful endeavors at GA for UX Design.
