Teddy frowned, something about the way the girl spoke making him feel slightly uncomfortable. In his experience, it was never so easy to talk about dead parents, whether they were good parents or not was irrelevant. “Oh-” He said, at the mention of Harry Potter, annoyed that he had given himself away but also grateful for the change in subject. “Uh- I guess it would be, yeah. I’ve never gotten used to people loving him like that… he’s always just been Harry to me.” He looked at the necklace again, feeling another spark of curiosity. He couldn’t understand the way she was talking about her family, as though they were terrible people but she didn’t mind that fact? She was becoming increasingly difficult to read. “Why did she give it to you? If she didn’t want to?” He asked, figuring if that was too personal a question then she wouldn’t have told him.
“I lived abroad for a while--- is he still as famous now as he was then?” Alessandra quizzed. She missed out on two wars and had to play catch up somehow. Why not ask a direct source? By the time she spoke to Teddy, she’d told at least three different strangers three different stories about the stolen necklace. So she was just saying the first things that came to mind. “She was dying and I’m an only child-- it’s like an heirloom and she didn’t want to ruin family tradition just because she hated me.” Alessandra shrugged simply. Truth was, Alessandra didn’t know anyone except her father and her cousins, the infamous Carrow twins.
