I’m sorry but this is hilarious to me. He doesn’t even say “hey we have a lead on something to help us with the God thing be back soon” or even “we’re away on a hunt in Alaska see you later” it’s literally just “We’ve gone to Alaska” with 0 context. This could literally be interpreted as “yeah we’ve given up and we’re gonna retire to Alaska” because Sam refuses to give ANY OTHER DETAILS.
