Inga's work reveals her fascination with the familiar details of the little things that surround her here in the Blue Mountains. Just a photo of my work desk here but for any illustration nerds please indulge my essay. I’m really happy with this new set up for a couple reasons. 1) I made the desk myself over Christmas, I’m very tall so finally having a desk I fit under is amazing. Also I finally got a proper chair and computer stand to save my back. 2) I’ve just got a new Wacom Cintiq Pro. I didn’t think there would be a huge difference but the lcd screen and higher refresh rate make it actually the best digital drawing experience yet. Absolute no lag, works perfectly. New MacBook helps with that too 3) it looks nice, to me. 4) the whole set up is portable so I can put the whole thing in a bag and draw on the go with no compromise in performance. Having my desktop as my travel set up is weird but very cool. 5) the drawers are on castors so I can switch side of the desk and use the laptop for meetings or emailing. 6) I have my speakers and headphones on Bluetooth now so I can just switch back and forth with no cables. Chuffed to have a small contribution in this amazing collaboration project. Jakub at @illustrateyourlife has again put together a sort of time capsule of Australian and international illustrators in this comic where each artist completes a sequential frame of one sprawling narrative. Pretty excited about this, I found my easter book “Where’s the Golden Egg?” in Coles Katoomba today. It’s a small thing but feels like a particularly nice bit of mainstream validation to be in my local supermarket. There is a new edition out this Easter with some new characters and a new spread.
