Before the year ends, Here's a piece I made for the new year of 2022 (wow this painting is like a year old now huh?) I was born the year of the tiger (1998) so I figured it'd be nice to draw something special for it.

Happy Lunar New Year! In Chinese culture the tiger is known as the king of all beasts and a symbol of bravery, confidence, and strength. This cool cat in Maria Berrio's “There is Magic Underneath it All” (2019) at Fort Hamilton Pkwy (N) Station in Brooklyn is ready to celebrate the #YearoftheTiger.
Happy 2022! Wishing everyone the best 🐯
In celebration of the #LunarNewYear and the #YearOfTheTiger, we’re sharing the Museum’s Tiger Diorama!🐅 In this scene, a female tiger enjoys a drink while her cubs relax, hidden from predators by the tall grass. Tiger stripes are good for camouflage. And like human fingerprints, each set of stripes is unique. In fact, researchers can identify individual animals by their stripes! See this diorama up close in the Hall of Asian Mammals. The Museum is open from Wednesday–Sunday, 10 am–5:30 pm. Photo: M. Cat lovers rejoice and drop a 🐯 in the comment box below! There are more wild tigers in the world than conservationists previously believed. The news came in an update announced last Thursday to the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species. While tigers (Panthera tigris) are still considered Endangered, there are 40 percent more of them than was indicated by the last population assessment in 2015. The new IUCN assessment determined that there are now between 3,726 and 5,578 tigers (not including cubs) roaming their range that includes East Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia, an uptick attributed to more effective monitoring. In fact, the IUCN called it the “first reasonably rigorous estimate of global Tiger numbers, based largely on capture-recapture and occupancy methodologies.” Source: Ecowatch (link in bio) #tiger #conservation #yearofthetiger https://www.instagram.com/p/CgzH6YyO1Ck/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
