Is this promise only for the early Christians? What do the scriptures say?  "The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off" (Acts 2:39). Jesus said, "If you being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" (Luke 11:13).

Acts 2:17 In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all people; your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

This promise is yours for the asking. Ask and you will receive so that your joy may be full.

Prayer

Lord ,  fill us and our family with Your Holy Spirit  and with Your power so that we can live fruitful lives and glorify Your name and be bold to proclaim Your good news everywhere. In Jesus' Name we ask, Amen

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

Life is always sending unexpected surprises, but praise God, nothing takes Jesus by surprise. He's the Master Planner. Our family might turn against us, our friends let us down, illness, afflictions, and problems may assail us on every side… but God still has a plan, for you, and for me.

Joseph is a prime example of life's surprises. It took 13 years of endurance and character-building for him to fulfill this part of God's plan. Sold as a slave into Egypt by his own brothers, betrayed and imprisoned, he must have wondered a lot where God was and what He was doing. But eventually, Joseph was placed in the highest position in the land, second only to Pharaoh, and commissioned to execute God's plan for saving His people from famine.

When our situations are difficult to handle and downright impossible to explain, we need to remind ourselves that God said, “I know the plans I have for you."

In the midst of the bustling crowds and the noisy activity and with Bartimaeus shouting louder and louder, JESUS STOPS! Jesus did not overlook his callings. Jesus will stop for you too. He is not too busy to stop when you call upon Him. Jesus' willingness to stop all the activity to deal with this blind beggar should be an encouragement to all of us. Jesus does not just stop, but He goes further and He ‘calls him to Himself and heals him! Perhaps, you are distressed today; call upon Him. He will come to you and will deliver you.

the day you stop earning love

you wake one morning, and set the proof down, the invoices of your smiles, the receipts of your yes, scattered like leaves, and you realize, love was never a wage, it was always the sun, warming you, whether you worked or not.

you sit in the quiet, and it does not judge you, it only asks softly, who were you, before the performance began, and you laugh, because the answer rises easy, like breath, you were enough, you are enough, you have always been enough.
