“Well, the cologne I did put on was much earlier this morning, so I think the smell’s probably gone by now,”  He admitted.  “But…I’m gonna go ahead and hope that it’s the first reason you suggested, not the second.”

“oh my goodness, just imagine if it was their mating season. you could think it was just a casual mosquito bite, but really- it’s them fuckin’ on your arm.”

“I’m glad it’s not just me,”  He smiled.  “I feel like each year they come out earlier and earlier – maybe if they’re just sensing my presence, I need to figure out how to get them to leave me alone.”

“well if you’re wearing a sweet-smelling cologne, that might attract them to you. if not, it might just be their mating season.” she suggested, her eyebrows raising as she shrugged.

“–God, I think that’s another mosquito.  I don’t think I’d mind ‘em as much if their bites didn’t itch so bad afterward.  Or if they only came out in the evening instead of three in the afternoon.”  Nicolas sighed, scratching one of the numerous bug bites on his arm.

“It’s not just me, is it?  If mosquitos don’t go after you much, consider yourself lucky.”

“it’s not just you.” she said with a laugh, glancing down at one of the red spots on her arm. “i feel like they’re mainly out at this time, anyways. or just when they sense your presence.”

It’s been months since he’s spoken to her. He was DONE leading her on, messing with her head. He’d decided it had gone too far when she still couldn’t see that he was only PLAYING with her mind, her emotions. ( He hoped she could see it by now, but sometimes… they never do. ) So when she walks into the shop, fingers immediately stop strumming his guitar and SILENCE falls upon the two. All that is heard is the clock ticking in the background as dark eyes study the once girlfriend for a few more silent moments, lips turning into a thin line. “For a photographer, you aren’t very observant… What do you want?”

she expected nothing more than what she had got from him, his cold expression and tone no longer hurting her as bad as it once did. alexa moved to sit down in one of the chairs nearby her, her eyes studying him as she did. not much about him had changed, he only seemed colder towards her if that was even possible. “i’m not sure what i want yet.” she answered honestly, eyes falling on a piece of his art work on one of the walls. “beautiful.” her voice was low and her lips curled into a small smile. “what do you suggest?”

    “FUCK.” Charlie sighed, shaking out her hair. “That’s alright. I should probably cut down, anyway. Just wanted one for the way home. I’m HIGHLY regretting walking tonight.”

     “i suggest gum, i hear it’s a good substitute.”

after carefully thinking it out, alexa decided it was time to face the one thing she dreaded- edy caballero. her heart still ached for him despite the fact that he was so cold towards her. she stood outside the door of the tattoo parlor for a few moments, gathering herself before she pushed the door open. her eyes met his figure near by and she felt her heart flutter, though she cursed herself for it and let the door close behind her. “not busy are you?” her voice was soft as if she was trying to avoid startling him, leaning against the counter.

“awh,” faith said with a bit of a sigh, before continuing her pestering. “that makes sense and all. but i really only need a simple headshot, not anything crazy like a full photoshoot.” any photographer would know that a headshot probably did require a full photoshoot, but faith, in her ignorance of photography, wasn’t aware.

alexa inhaled sharply, holding her tongue as she kept herself from getting irritated. “the thing about that is, it’s never just a simple headshot. there’s so much more you have to put into it. my photography ranges more so on nature shots, i don’t exactly do people. i will try it one day of course, but as of right now- it’s a no from me.”

“Well there go my dreams of being one of those fashion models with the tiny dogs and fancy cars.” Fina said,laughing. “ Don’t worry about it sugar,it’s no big deal. Do you know how to fix photos at all? I’ve only got one of my mama left but it’s all messed up.”

alexa laughed at the girls statement, shaking her head a bit. “yeah i can fix photos, it just takes a bit of time & patience. define all messed up.”

        “don’t get me wrong.” alexa stated, biting her lip as she looked at the person in front of her. “i love what i do, but i’m just not sure if i am up to par when it comes to photo shoots of people. i will let you know when i am, though.”

          “ whatever it is you think i used to do, you’re wrong. now fuck off.” he attempted to drive the person off, after at least an hour of badgering. he was on his break, which usually meant he just wanted to enjoy some peace and quiet with a drink.

                alexa pursed her lips, pausing a moment before speaking. "is this a bad time?" she questioned, her eyebrows raising instinctively. the man seemed stressed out- for what reason was completely lost to her since she had only arrived once he managed to get the last word in.
