I decided to share what we do to give a new life to the art we find. How much work is there behind every painting we sell.

We are 2 people who buy paintings in bad condition, restore and frame them giving them a longer life. With the help of Artverum - our shop on Etsy - our paintings now live worldwide. Some of the process I will show in this blog.

It is harder to run such a business during the war (yes, we are in Ukraine) but everything we do now became more precious. Saving our art - is saving our future.

Wow, what a cool project! Animated Ukrainian mosaics of 1960-80's!

The premiere of the animated projection, created on the basis of Ukrainian mosaics of the 60s and 80s, took place at the festival of electronic music and visual art "Ukrainian Night - Electronic Music & Art". The audiovisual show "Discover Ukraine: Bit by Bit" united more than fifty monumental mosaics, which were broadcast on the facade of the Leopold Museum to the musical accompaniment of Ptakh_Jung. Among these works are mosaic panels by Ada Rybachuk and Volodymyr Melnychenko, "Tree of Life" and "Boryviter" by Alla Gorska, "There is nothing better than that young mother" by Stepan Kyrychenko and Nadia Klein, "Sea and Fish" by Volodymyr Patyka, and many others. The projection was created on the initiative and efforts of the Ukrainian Institute as part of the bilateral Year of Culture.

Just interesting. I had some mosaic studies of a local Odessa artist Natalia Berezhnaya. The mosaic is for one of the antenatal clinics, done in 1970's.

The artist has done many studies, I'm not sure I bought all of them, I had just 5. But it is interesting - the ideas and the realization.

This month has a lot of mosaics stories😄

Have just found that a mosaic study I recently sold to the U.S. collector was realized in Kyiv in 1970's. It is a mosaic panel on the main building of the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. 1970s, smalt. Authors: Stepan Kirichenko, Roman Kirichenko, Nadiya Klein.

Another mosaics story🙃

My customer who bought a study for mosaic asked me if it was realised but I couldn't find anything about it. So he managed to find it himself! The sketches I have are for a big mosaic panno in the Museum of the history of Ukraine in World War II. I have never been there, so the first my visit to after war Kyiv will be to that museum.

Something interesting found!

I have 2 similar mosaics studies and have just found this was realised in Kyiv on the wall of the school. Was very sorry to know it was destroyed in 2016. So, this 2 sketches are now unique and historical. The matted one has just been sold and is on it way to the U.S. collector. And the framed one has some resemblance with ancient Egypt art, hasn't it?🙃
