Obligatory Introduction Post

Honestly I put off making this for a while cause I wanted to make it 'aesthetic'. If this is your first impression of me, don't expect most of my other posts to look like this. Anyways let's get this show started.

Is this just a ploy to push my fic more while I write the next one? Maybe, but here are some headcanon's for Grace's life on Erid in no particular order.

Grace has three classes that he teaches - General Science, Microbiology and Astrophysics.

His General Science class is his youngest class, close to the age of his middle school class, and the curriculum follows regular Eridian curriculum with a few tweaks. Think of it like an honors class.

Both his Microbiology and Astrophysics classes are college aged Eridians, usually ones who want to go into specific fields.

His favourite is the general science class (that's the one in the fic)

Instead of a whiteboard, Grace draw diagrams using sand on a tray.

On Erid, you usually address others by their profession before their name, similar to saying Mr. Or Ms.

(assuming it isn't extremely professional or the first time meeting someone, in which case you should refer to someone by their full title)

The classroom is fairly casual but the students still need to respect the adults. But Rocky, Adrian and Grace are on given name basis. Do not call another Eridian by their first name unless prompted to.

Students are also referred to by their given name until they go into university and decide a line of work, at which point they are called 'will be [profession]' (there is an Eridian word for 'will-be' in reference to the title)

Every evening, after his lessons, he spends time with Adrian and Rocky or sometimes just Rocky.

While Grace can understand and speak (with help from his keyboard) fluent Eridian, he has trouble reading and writing it. So Adrian reads books aloud for him.

Grace has two keyboards, his standing one in his classroom and a portable one about the size of his forearm.

Grace speaks Eridian to almost everyone else. He only speaks English with Rocky and Adrian.

After returning to Erid, Grace and Rocky did have to go see a therapist to handle their codependency after being on a ship for over 6 years together. Due to this, every 5 Eridian days or so, they have to spend a day or two apart.

Rocky will randomly come across something while looking at his laptop and will just add them to Grace's Biodome. Trees was one of them.

This entire bit makes me think Rocky is purposefully Changing his natural pitch for Grace to hear. Kind of like how we use a higher voice when talking to pets.

It's funny to imagine Rocky gets into a habit of this. He comes back to Erid and he's just stuck talking in a high pitch voice.

Like they tried to change Reblogs and people rightfully got up in arms, this is a LOT worse. In order to have access to any sort of thing dubbed mature, and We haveALL seen what they think is mature, Everything from a black and white photo of a black woman's arm, to posts about IUD recalls, to a nude painted by a 17th century artist, to anything involving the word Trans; you have to send your personal information to a third party site that WILL get hacked, and you will be doxxed. And they can say "Oh shit, well it wasn't us who sent your name address and gender identity to Moldovan teenagers, here's a couple extra minutes in the ball pit.

That's bad enough!!!!!!!! But the entire idea of needing permission from state authorities to access anything labeled mature by our friendly AI overlords is some fucking Boll shit. Die Gedenken Sind Frie baby. This is all a reaction to people getting uppity about their lowly lowly rights and is being propped up by the same bad actors tht have made life unlivable. Fuck that shit.

"Well it's only being rolled out in Brazil and UK" Yeah, to start. "Well they're being forced to do this by laws." YOu know it's always really funny when these tech giants (Or whatever you call owning tumblr dot com) get really antsy about laws considering they pick and choose which ones they abide by.

This is a breaking point and it's going to be very interesting to see how we proceed from here.

Well I watched it. I didn't hate it. I'll compile my thoughts later in a kind of final post/goodbye to good omens type thing. But it was nice. Not amazing or mind blowing or anything. But nice.

Markiplier manages to get his indie film to the theaters and y'all sing praises. Glitch and Gooseworx manage to get the finale of TADC to theaters and apparently y'all have a fucking fit over it?

That's because Iron Lung and TADC: The Final Act (I'll just be calling this TFA) are fundamentally different in both content and production. I am about to ramble for a while now.

Iron Lung was always going to be a movie. It was always going to be a small production movie. This was clearly communicated to fans since day one. If you were not in the US when the movie was first coming out, then you knew you most likely weren't going to see it. Meanwhile, fans found out TFA was going to be a movie, only releasing in a few American theatres this month. This was never suggested before.

Iron Lung was special. It wasn't just 'The Markiplier Movie', it was a movie made to just be a horror movie that anyone could watch without even knowing who Mark is. TFA is a finale to a show that not a lot of people know about. It's easy to look at the internet and assume everyone has at least heard of TADC, but ask an average person on the street, and they most likely won't know.

Adding to this, the chances of it being known goes down drastically when you take into account non-Western countries. I am from a tiny asian island that most people can't point to on a map. The locals here are not interested in seeing a little cartoon jester and rabbit go through an existential crisis. So simply 'calling your local theatre and requesting it' is not going to work. Theatres want to make a profit - there is no point in reserving film halls for a movie about ten people might come to see.

And it's not as simple as just not watching it in theatres like Iron Lung. I don't need to watch Iron Lung; I can continue my life with blissful ignorance. If I so desperately want, I can play the game or watch Mark play it to support him. But I have spent time watching TADC, and a finale is another episode I want (and should be able to) watch relatively spoiler-free. Once TFA comes out, I (and many others) will not be able to go on the internet for the next two weeks. And by the time the finale comes out on youtube, the hype will not be the same.

Not to mention, putting TFA in theatres doesn't even make sense here. Unless a good amount of the movie is the exposition of what's happened so far (which seems unnecessary to fans), or any casual watcher is just going to go into a movie already at its climax. Iron Lung was a movie anyone could watch without prior context of the game or Markiplier. Also entirely unrelated tangent, but parents will take their kids to watch TFA and then complain when it has some darker themes. And who will face the brunt of that? Not GLITCH, but the theatres themselves.

I want to make this clear, I don't wish harm against Gooseworx when I criticise this decision. She has made it clear time and again that all she does is write and direct the show. The choice to make it into a movie is entirely on GLITCH. And in the same breath, I don't hate GLITCH for this either. I understand that having an indie project make it to the big screen is a major milestone. And the revenue it generates (because it WILL generate revenue in the west) will be put back into the studio and into more shows to get more episodes out faster.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of this money is going into Knights of Guinevere, as 2D animation takes longer and is relatively more expensive. And I hope they get the success they were hoping for. I only wish they had maybe released the movie after the finale dropped on youtube, or on the same day, or anything else of the like.

To say fans are 'having a fit' over this isn't seeing the full picture as to why people are upset.
