Our lady of sorrows
chit chat...
ASOIAF as historical paintings (11/∞) Lyanna Stark at the Tower of Joy
Ned remembered the moment when all the smiles died, when Prince Rhaegar Targaryen urged his horse past his own wife, the Dornish princess Elia Martell, to lay the queen of beauty's laurel in Lyanna's lap. He could see it still: a crown of winter roses, blue as frost. He could hear her still at times. Promise me, she had cried, in a room that smelled of blood and roses. Promise me, Ned. The fever had taken her strength and her voice had been faint as a whisper, but when he gave her his word, the fear had gone out of his sister's eyes. Ned remembered the way she had smiled then, how tightly her fingers had clutched his as she gave up her hold on life, the rose petals spilling from her palm, dead and black. (GRRM, AGOT)

in hindsight it is very funny that ned was like yeah you can bring your megafauna apex predator wolves with you to the most densely populated city in the country. that will be fine probably
Noble Houses of the North: House Bolton
time for my regularly scheduled cersei redraw
this was mostly a chance for me to try and nail down the look I want to go for with womenswear in westeros. i’ve been wildly inconsistent up to this point because tbh I much prefer drawing menswear... but I want to draw a certain someone else in a dress so this was my practice >:)
I don’t like my old dany art anymore so it was time for a new one… this time featuring her dragons <3 if they look bad I’m sorry I literally haven’t drawn a dragon since following step-by-steps in elementary school
I’d been procrastinating drawing Jaime in kingsguard armor bc I was loathing figuring out how I was going to make full plate match the aesthetic I had been going for with other westerosi stuff, but I went back and listened to some of the chapters for inspiration and sansa describes the kg armor as scaled! I decided to lean fully into that instead of plate bc I thought it was more fun :)
coming out as a ser davos seaworth enjoyer. I just think he’s neat…
I know his clothing is a little fancier than he usually wears but oh well! special treat.
The ASOIAF covers releasing in October! I like them a lot!

and who are you, that i must bow so low?
George RR Martin, A Game of Thrones
The queen wore a high-collared black silk gown, with a hundred dark red rubies sewn into her bodice, covering her from neck to bosom. They were cut in the shape of teardrops, as if the queen were weeping blood.
