I'm hobbiist artist,

its quite frustrating to see big artists who have like thousands of followers on bluesky and tumblr act as if they are failing by not working themselves like a consumer marketing space. it feels like it continuously reinforces the idea that artists should be making "sellable" art and not art that they enjoy making, and that the admittance of guilt for not being that reinforces the idea that you Should be that and if you aren't there's something wrong. there isn't anything wrong. i don't think artists were ever supposed to be marketers unless they're literally trying to be marketers, and most people aren't.

also i think there are a lot of furries who do want to be a brand but don't look up marketing techniques or branding techniques outside of having a "thing" they "do" a lot. i think its a lot easier to make a brand than people think and it's just by like. doing.... the things you like a lot. i didn't plan to be the "shapes and colors" guy but thats just what my art Is and i lean into it, vs trying to come up with a marketable "concept" i feel comfortable "becoming."

This winter left us chilled to the bones

I don't know why I decided to draw this. Oi just felt like walking against the wall and slightly scratching my hand against it's cold surface, desparate and looking for an answer.

And the answer came and it was cold as the wall itself. Unforgiving as winter and howling as blizzard.

The world kept spiriling, and winter ended. Might look into a brighter future this spring, but I'm paranoid as hell.

I'm even scared to post it, because my anxiety fueled brain is scared of bad luck this drawing may bring. But this is all just a superstition, right?! Dam

I'm not really disappointed with my drawings this year. But I don't draw much nowadays. It has become exhausting because I've stopped enjoying it. Too much is going on in my life, demanding my attention

Maybe, I want to draw something just for myself — something a lot more lighthearted

For now, I'll try to create more little things, simply for the joy of it

I hope 2026 brings back the inner peace to my beloved hobby (*ov.v)o
