hi everyone!

my name is yeliza, i’m ukrainian, living in kyiv. funny story but currently we have a 150k+ army of russians all over the ukrainian borders, as well as an ongoing shelling from uncontrolled territories that has been averaging more than 1000 strikes daily. more fun facts - we are currently in a state of emergency, and it’s of high probability that russians will start a major invasion pretty damn soon. kyiv will be one of the first to be hit :)

Still on hiatus but felt like making a post here.

As someone who lives in a wartorn country, and has lived through a mass genocide and is STILL living in an extremely dangerous socio-political climate, I understand the usage of humor as a coping mechanism. But please don’t joke about war. I’ve already been seeing a lot of “world war 3” posts in light of extremely recent events.

War isn’t a joke. The suffering of people at the hands of local or foreign governments isn’t a joke.

My heart goes out to Ukraine.
