This photo is from column B. It’s a photo of my aunt. This past weekend was her birthday, so my family threw her a surprise party. She was shocked when we all came out and screamed SURPRISE. In these images there is a lot of colour. This element of art is shown in the balloons. The colours highlight the image. The principles of art in this image are movement. During this photo the wind was blowing the balloons all over the place.
This photo is from column A. It describes “Sports” and “Dirty!”. In this photo I mainly focused on 3 elements of art and 1 principle. The elements consist of line, colour and texture. The yellow line on the ground has texture in how the paint in chipped away. Also, you can see texture on the bottom of my shoes from the dirt. Colour is shown by the yellow line highlighting the image. It stands out because it is the main colour that sticks out compared to the other shades. The principle of art used in this photo in the balance of my sock and shoe. My sock and the top of my shoe are extremely white compared to the dirt on the bottom. In this photo I had my lacrosse stick and ball to represent sports. That’s how i got dirty, from playing with Riley in the dirty field.
This photo is from column A. It describes “The Colour Red.” In this photo i mainly focused on 1 element of art, space and colour and 1 principle of art. I was in a extremely red room and i decided to take a picture of my white shoes because it made them appear as if they were red. Also, i used space by having a lot of emptiness at the top of the photo to create emphasis on my shoes.
This photo was taken by Aoife Daley. In the photo you can see the field hockey team running off the field to the side. This photo inspires me because field hockey has been my main sport since grade 10. That was when I decided I loved this sport and wanted to continue to play it. In grade 11 I was offered scholarships from post-secondary schools in and out of Canada. I was given many opportunities to continue my field hockey journey on after high school. I will soon be committing to a post-secondary school to continue my education and to play the sport I love. This purpose behind why I chose this photo was because I truly do love this sport. It never fails to make me happy and I never get sick of playing. Regardless if it’s a good or bad game, I’ve never came off the field and and felt I didn’t give it my all.
This photo was taken by Gia Gallitelli. In the photo you can see a team holding up their lacrosse sticks into the middle of their huddle. This photo inspires me because before every game my team and I do this as well. We chant out our team name and get pumped to go out and play. Before every game this is what gets us started. This is the moment we know we have to go out there and do well. The main purpose of this photo was to show the moment we’re all there as a team ready to play.
This photo was taken by Alexia Vitale. This photo was taken inside a Brandy Melville store in Toronto. This photo inspires me because there are signs that say some of the highlights of Toronto. For example, the blue jays, maple leafs, raptors, UofT, and York U. All of these examples are well known around Toronto. They make Toronto a memorable city. The purpose behind this photo was to capture a moment of Toronto. These signs remind people of what we have here and what we’re proud to support.
This photo was taken by Jolyn McCalley. In this photo she is eating a watermelon with a spoon. This photo inspires me because it reminds me of growing up. I get flashbacks to when I was young and it was summer. I’d get home from playing outside all day with my friends and my mom would have cut up watermelon ready for my friends and I. It was always so refreshing after a long hot day. The purpose behind this photo was to bring back the past for me. I always had great times in the summer with my family and friends. We’d travel a lot together and do many crazy adventures.
This photo is of Riley and I. We went to the distillery district in the winter to walk around. This photo inspires me because you can see how festive the distillery district was. Also you can see the big heart around us. We had a lot of fun that day and went on plenty adventures. This purpose behind this photo was to capture our friendship/love for one another. We always have a lot of fun with each other and on this specific day when we went downtown and got to experience a lot.
This photo is of me and Cassie. This picture was taken at our last hockey game. Cassie was the captain of the team and I was the assistant captain. I had her back throughout the entire season. We did a lot for our team and I’m very glad I had the experience I did. This photo inspires me because even though we lost this game we were still happy. We were always positive and energetic. The purpose behind this photo was to capture a moment from our last hockey game in high school.
This is a photo of me doing yoga at the bluffs. Throughout my life I’ve always been a very happy person. I spend a lot of my time playing sports with my friends and spending time with my family. This photo inspires me because it shows me doing something I love in a relaxing place. I’m very into health and wellness. I feel that taking care of yourself should be your main priority. The purpose behind this photo was to capture a calm moment while I’m doing something I enjoy.
This is a photo of downtown Toronto. You can see the CN tower, along with the Rogers centre. These are two main tourist points for people who visit Toronto. This photo inspires me because I’ve grown up here my whole life. I used to travel downtown with my family to go see baseball games, hockey games and especially go to the CNE. The purpose of this photo was to capture a highlight of Toronto.
This is a photo of Reese and I. We went with a group of friends to one of our favourite country singers, Jason Aldean. This photo inspires me because you can see all the fans in the background excited to see him come out to perform. You can see how some fans have even brought blankets to sit on while they patiently wait. The main purpose of this photo was to capture the first country concert Reese and I went to that summer. You could see how excited and happy we were to see him.
This is a picture of Alli and I. We were the captains of the varsity girls field hockey team. In this photo we’re at a tournament in Oshawa. The photo inspires me because even in pictures you can still tell what the weather is like. We got to this tournament very early in the morning and we were thinking it was going to be a terrible muggy day. However, it ended up being gorgeous outside. When we took this picture the sun was just being to deep through the clouds and the sky was beginning to look phenomenal. The main purpose of this photo was to capture the moment of happiness.
This is my little cousin Kira on a flamingo tube. In this picture we’re up north swimming. This photo relates to our topic because I took this shot while she was still moving, however, the picture still turned out sharp. This type of photography inspires me because it follows the main theme of “water”. The pool water is so blue and clear and it really enlightens the photo. The main purpose of this photo was to capture a fun moment with Kira.
