Hello, everybody! Today, I will be showing you a new colour for our palette, it's most likely amethyst. Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz. Ancient Greeks wore amethyst and carved drinking vessels from it in the belief that it would prevent intoxication. Amethyst, a semiprecious stone, is often used in jewelry. It occurs mostly in association with calcite, quartz, smoky quartz, hematite, pyrite, fluorite, goethite, agate, and chalcedony. Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz (SiO2) and owes its violet color to irradiation, impurities of iron (Fe3+) and in some cases other transition metals, and the presence of other trace elements, which result in complex crystal lattice substitutions. The irradiation causes the iron (Fe+3) ions that replace Si in the lattice to lose an electron and form a [FeO4]0 color center.
Amethyst is a three-dimensional network of tetrahedra where the silicon atoms are in the center and are surrounded by four oxygen atoms located at the vertices of a tetrahedron. This structure is quite rigid and results in quartz's hardness and resistance to weathering. The hardness of the mineral is the same as quartz, thus making it suitable for use in jewelry. Amethyst was used as a gemstone by the ancient Egyptians and was largely employed in antiquity for intaglio engraved gems.
The ancient Greeks believed amethyst gems could prevent intoxication, while medieval European soldiers wore amethyst amulets as protection in battle in the belief that amethysts heal people and keep them cool-headed. Amethyst color is a regal, soothing purple that sits between violet and lavender on the color wheel. It can range from light, pastel lilac to deep, vibrant reddish-purple.
The shade derives its tone from iron impurities and natural irradiation. According to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), the most valuable amethyst gemstones are deeply saturated with a strong reddish-purple hue and lack visible color zoning. Lighter shades like lavender are prized for their high brilliance and are often used in contemporary jewelry. There are three variants of the colour amethyst:
Rose de France: A very light, pale lilac or pinkish-purple. Siberian/Deep Russian: Historically the most prized, featuring a deep royal purple with flashes of red and blue. Zambian: Known for highly saturated, vibrant raspberry and deep purple tones.
Amethyst's vibrant hue embodies clarity, peace, royalty, and spiritual protection. From soft lavender to regal violet, this mesmerizing purple bridges the earthly and divine realms, symbolizing both calming wisdom and majestic power. Steeped in ancient symbolism, this luminous gemstone stands for inner peace, emotional balance, and divine insight—offering a soothing presence that protects and elevates the spirit.
Specific Color Variations and Their Meanings: Deep Violet: Symbolizes spiritual awareness, intuition, and deep meditation. Historically prized by royalty and religious leaders, it represents luxury, wealth, and authority. Medium Purple: The classic tone represents emotional balance, inner strength, and composure. Light / Lavender: Pale lilacs symbolize serenity, tranquility, and gentle spiritual energy. Pink Amethyst: Delivers a softer energy associated with grace, understanding, and cleansing. Green Amethyst (Prasiolite): Fosters a connection to nature, the heart chakra, and self-love

the placement in your chart that's secretly running your life entirely ♡

a little observation post because everyone seems to obsess over their big three, but honestly, it's usually the placements no one talks about that are ruling the entire chart.
• your moon sign is doing more work than your sun ever has. like… your sun is who you are on paper, but your moon is who you are at 1am when no one's watching in your room and what you're doing EXACTLY. the way you self-soothe, the way you panic, the foods you crave when you're sad, it's all moon. people will date your sun and then break up with your moon hehe.
• your mercury runs your relationships more than your venus does, and nobody talks about this. you can have the sweetest venus in the world but if your mercury can't communicate it, it doesn't land. the way you text, the way you argue, the way you go quiet, that's the placement people actually experience. though the REASON why you broke up, could be your venus' and mercury's fault.
• your rising sign is literally your face. like the energy people pick up in the first three seconds before you've said anything. it's also why two people with the same sun sign can feel completely different in a room. though I can always spot a sagittarius rising in a room.
• your chart ruler (the planet that rules your rising) is honestly the main character of your chart and most people don't even know which one is theirs. if your rising is taurus, your venus is running everything. if your rising is scorpio, your mars and pluto are basically co-piloting your life. it explains so much once you find it. and once you'll figure it out (or ask me to do it), focus on those exact planets more, they literally rule your entire chart to begin with.
• your saturn placement is the thing you're quietly insecure about but also the thing you'll become weirdly excellent at by your thirties. it's the area of life where you feel behind for years and then suddenly everyone's asking you for advice about it.
