personality
↳ when it comes to aspen’s personality, it depends on how close someone is to her. in general, she has a tough facade, having built up walls to not be heartbroken or used once again by those she befriends in tulsa. she learnt a while ago that in order to keep yourself from being betrayed is to be by herself. when it comes to someone, such as any of the greasers, she puts up a tougher persona to keep them away from breaking down her walls and revealing herself as vulnerable.
↳whenever it comes to the greasers, she doesn’t trust any of them fully. she can be nice to any of them who don’t oppose a threat, but she would rather drop dead than be caught anywhere near one. there’s times she’ll offer a couple bucks, but only up to five. though, she’d never consider them a friend. but she does have one, but he’s not in tulsa anymore.
↳aspen remains as a protective woman throughout everything, especially when it comes to cherry valance and marcia. anyone who messes with them may feel the switchblade or the verbal abuse of aspen. it doesn’t matter who it is, soc or greaser. she enjoys the trio with the girls, usually sticking to being considered the “black cat” of the group, or the “doberman” friend. she has a threatening look whenever anyone even dares to try and mess with the two girls. she’s extremely loyal to these two girls and the group of soc’s she hangs around.
↳aspen also has good memory. if she remembers something that one of the girls wants in a store, it’ll be deep into her mind and she’ll buy it for them when she has the money. she’s always focused during these types of situations as well, even if she’s quietly observing in the background. she still pays attention and listens in. if needed, she’ll pay for someone’s food at the diner she works at as well. it’s rare of her to do it for a greaser though. very rare for her to even be around a greaser in the first place.
↳she is extra cautious around men in the diner and even just in the general area. in general, she is beyond terrified of men. especially those who seem much older, like in their thirties or early forties. with all the cases she has read of women going missing, she is terrified. majority of the cases she reads in the news, it’s almost alway a male perpetrator. it’s the main reason she owns her own switchblade and carries it around everywhere in either her jacket sleeve or even her pocket or purse. it’s rare for her to speak to a man, or to even keep eye contact with one.
↳by herself, aspen is a quiet woman, keeping to herself if she isn’t in her circle. unless someone begins to annoy her, than she will gladly start an argument with them, without hesitation. she despises ANYONE who tries arguing with her. it’s pathetic, she claims. if anyone even tries to start anything with her. let alone if it’s a greaser with a loud mouth and rude personality. especially dallas winston. she’d rather get hit by a train than be spoken to by him.

aspen was born to a woman by the name of carla anna rouge and a man by the name of cassidy rouge in the town of tulsa, where she would grow up. she had a decent childhood, learning to read via her mother and to cook via her father. a couple months before her seventh birthday, her father had been drafted to war, or to military camps in order to prepare for the wars. that was years ago as of current, but it was the last time she would physically see her father. though, they do write amongst everything. when she had hit her elementary school years, aspen was much more quiet and preferred to be by herself throughout everything. she hated large crowds, knowing absolutely nobody at the school during the time. now, when it came to recess, she stuck to being around the teachers and upper classmen. they at least treated her with respect, and treated her like a human.
with her father gone, her mother had turned to alcohol, and becoming a mega bitch in general. which, was something aspen hated once she had hit junior high. every day after junior high, aspen would go home to drop her stuff off, and get sent to the store to buy a couple shots of whatever for her mother, and get herself something as well. though, majority of the time, she didn’t buy herself anything and would call her grandparents to come and pick her up. her grandparents, on her fathers side, were wonderful people. her father, before he had left for war, had gotten the girl a raven black shire by the name of achilles, and currently he resides at her grandparents home. so, everyday, she’d ask them if she could visit. which resulted in her usually coming home late, and her mother being asleep thankfully.
now, last two years of junior high and the beginning of freshman year, aspen had learned to despise the greasers that were on the east side of tulsa. a group of boys that were about two years above her year wise were assholes. utter assholes. they’d go as far as to follow the girl wherever she went, trying to… do whatever they could to her. it only resulted in her being told “boys will be boys”. but that will never leave her mind. it’s one of the major reasons aspen has shut her walls down and would rather be dead than anywhere near a greaser. though, that changed. during her sophomore year of highschool, she’d met a boy. a boy by the name of jason asher zuko. when she says she’d rather drop dead than be near a greaser, it all had changed upon meeting this boy.
jason was a young kid, a freshman and new to the school, but aspen understood the fear of being to a new place. and she had never seen this boy in tulsa before, so, as much as she hated greasers, she took him under her wing and begun to basically have a younger brother figure in the school. since then, before jason had moved out of tulsa, she had a younger brother figure. her mother had trusted him enough to keep aspen out of trouble, and to keep her from running away. as much as jason encouraged it.
when jason had left, it was during her junior year, during the summer right before it. she remembered the news when he had told her. they’d been out of town with jason’s family, at a pond. they were sitting on a cliff-side view of the pond below when jason had told her. it was only a couple weeks afterwards when jason was no longer in tulsa. since he left, aspen’s walls had returned and were tougher than anything. she just wishes the kid would come back, get her out of her house much more often. with jason gone, she had met the rest of the soc group, though she prefers to strick around cherry, melody and marcia. the only three out of the soc group she willingly likes.
