I’ve been trying to go about my day not sulking on the fact that today makes .. what ? 6 years since you past. And I was doing fine till people started posting and tagging me on Facebook and messaging me saying they’re thinking about me today. Which I get it, you’re being sweet and you don’t know that I’ve had a shit week but it’s just not really what I need right now .. I don’t know what I need right now. I want to cry but I know that doesn’t help.

Girls just want to be rescued ! Physically come rescue us from our sadness. If we call you in tears, it’s great to hear your advice but you know what’s better ? ACTIONS ! Come hug us and tell us it will be okay. 5-6 years ago, I called someone to when I was having a major mental breakdown while driving. All I wanted was for them to come rescue me but they just told me it would be okay and to call them when I got home. That didn’t make me feel much better.

Like a year and a half ago, I called my best friend while having a pretty bad mental breakdown. I called her and crying similar to the prior and she came running to my rescue. And she made sure I was okay an checked on me. She hugged me and reassured me that everything would be okay.

I think that’s the problem with today’s generation. People have learned how to act to show you care about someone. When those are what mean the most.

Sometimes .. I still feel her. Deep inside. I feel cold and morbid and dark when my mind goes there. When I think of pain .. of sadness .. of the faces missing from my life. It sucks because she is so smooth. It’s like one thought takes me there and then she tries to drag my deeper into that feeling. I know it’s no good so I’ll try and pull myself back. But .. every time I get there, I wound what it would be like to be numb again, to have literally nothing on my mind most of the time. People have no idea what it’s like to have your mind constantly running to the next thought. Never catching a break. Just always thinking about something.

I still feel bad that I don’t think about them all the time. I wear her rings, so I always have her with me. But I don’t have much of his. I have a couple old shirts that I wear from time to time. I just miss them so deeply. I always wonder how it’s even possible to have made it this far without them. It fucks you up. Death. It really messes with your mind. At least it did with mine. I guess cause I was so young. You think they’ll always be here and there’s know need to worry. But now, I know it’s inevitable .. but it doesn’t stop it from hurting that much more.

How will I react to the next one ? How will it affect me ? Will I be affected at all ? Or be numb ? Will I sink into my deepest hole of my mind yet ? Or just lose it all together ?

I have to say, this whole “we are unique snowflakes” thing is pretty cheesy. It might be the most overused metaphor in the history of metaphors, so let me give you a new one:

Snowflakes are symmetrical, but they’re not perfect. They’re ordered, but they’re created in disorder, every random branch re-tells their history, that singular journey that they took to get here, and most of all they’re fleeting and temporary.
