The rolling tea fields of the Cameron Highlands, West Malaysia. Where man's productivity meets nature's art.    Â
Two Huskies stand to attention on the shores of Lake Baikal, Siberia. The dogs love nothing more than to pull their sledge. Sometimes there’s fights between the pack as their masters select the lucky ones needed to work. The mournful howl that rose as we left the others for our trip was chilling.
Lake Baikal, Siberia 2012.
It’s hard to think of a time in Nepal where one can’t recall the flutter and snap of prayer flags. The stupa of Boudhanath is no different; hundreds of them stream from her flanks as Buddhist devotees perambulate chanting and praying for good fortune.
That was one gnarly blizzard!
Two aspiring mountaineers test their mettle in a blizzard returning from Coire an Sneachda, Scotland.
It’s always good to know your buddy’s got your back.
The Cairngorms may not have the height of the Himalayas or the majesty of the Alps but there’s still a beautiful allure to them.Â
Shot on a training session with my winter skills team overlooking Loch Eanaich from the slopes of Carn Ban Mor.
I love blizzards. As the whiteout closes around you and the visibility drops, your world becomes as simple as putting one foot in front of the other. You grasp blindly for the fellow in front as an elephant follows by the tail.Â
Inclement weather makes for the best shots.
Climbers ascend into the mist as they head towards the summit of Mt Snowdon, Wales' highest mountain. It felt a bit like the Stephen King film :S.
Crib Goch is described as a "knife-edged" arête and the most precarious part of the Snowdon horseshoe. The name translates as "red ridge" from the Welsh language.
In a landscape as vast and indomitable as the Cairngorms one can’t help but feel the insignificance and small place you hold in the world. I felt harmony in that realisation.Â
As we crunched and stomped our way through the snow towards our objective, the wind dropped and the conversation trailed off leaving perfect silence.
