I've done a lot of thinking about it and I think I'm gonna attend that onsen get-together! It might be a little bit scary if there are too many people and I've never shared a room like that before but I'm going to brave it!
I did it! It was super scary, to be honest, but I still did it thanks to everyone's help! Elias took out one of the Elite Four all by himself! I think I might actually have expected things to be harder than they were because even though my heart was racing the whole time there wasn't any part where we were really in danger of losing...I don't really feel any different even though I got the certificate for being a champion, is that normal?
My pokemon themselves are really strong, but...I don't know. It feels different than having won a normal rank contest, but not in the way I expected. I'm proud of my pokemon of course but I'm not sure how much I really had to do with our victory, you know?
We've been training a lot lately, but I also kinda wanted to spend some extra time with my family after the new year so I'm only now getting back out to adventure! I missed everyone a lot while I was gone so I didn't wanna just take off right away again. I'm still a bit worried about going against the Elite 4 but I trust everyone a lot so I'm sure we can do it! I think we'll go tomorrow, so wish us luck!
((Between trying to spend the last of my bf's winter break with him and being sick lately poor Alex's blog has been dead sorry guys. Gonna have a lot more free time/lonely afternoons from now on so I'll get their story finished finally))
((Alex needs to make new friends. Would anyone want to rp w/ them?))
Happy New Year! I tried to stay up until midnight but I wound up falling asleep...today has been a day where I've been celebrating everything good that happened last year, and of course that meant that I had to spend it with my family and my pokemon! It was really nice and peaceful.
Now that it's 2015, I really gotta make sure I become a Champion! Oh, oh, and also do more contests because that's important too and also a lot of fun.
I had so much fun with Christmas stuff! It might be a little bit childish but there isn't much more fun than getting to tear open presents and find out what kinds of surprises people got you and getting to see everyone else's happy faces when they open your presents too!
I got some really nice things and I'm definitely gonna treasure them!
((hahaha after busy holiday things I haven't been feeling well sorry for not being on...))
((ajkfldh I am dying friend gave me shiny floofbirb I am so happy))
Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates it! I can't wait to open up presents tonight and have all kinds of tasty food it's gonna be so much fun!
I think I got you a really nice present, Willow! I can give it to you today or I can wait until tomorrow because I know some people open gifts on Christmas day. Either one works!

Oh, trying to find where the legends came from was a much different thing, though from what Alex knew about them they were pretty old so it might be almost as hard. Before they could even think about whether or not to make that observation aloud, they were startled by the stranger grabbing one of their hands. Aiden made a small startled sound and leapt up to Alex’s shoulder, eying Max cautiously.
"I’m really glad I could help, Max! I like your name, it’s nice. I’m Alex. I think you’ll really like the cave, I’ve been wanting to go back there again to see them in person since even the pictures I have aren’t quite the same, you know?" They didn’t pull away from Max, but their body language was tense and uncomfortable despite the smile they gave her.
It was taking a minute for Max to catch on to the other’s distress, and for a few moments more she plowed on ahead with a large grin on her face. She tended to disregard a lot of things when she got excited enough.
"Well met, Alex! Oh gosh, like I said, you have no idea how helpful you’ve been! I know where my next goal is, all thanks to you!" It took another moment… then two… and then Max noticed the tension coming from the other, and with a gasp, she hastily let go of the kid and stepped back.
"Oh gosh, I’m so sorry!” Max apologized, a curious red coloring her cheeks. “Was I — oh goodness, I made you uncomfortable, I’m sorry! Ah hah, good going Max! I get a bit carried away when I’m focusing on things, eh heh… heh…” She coughed to smooth over the awkwardness she was feeling, and then suddenly reignited her gigawatt smile, though it was slightly strained with embarrassment.
"U-umm, anyway!" she continued. "Y-yes, but now I can carry on towards Dewford to check out the cave! That’s too sweet. But, uh, yeah, I would imagine that the real thing is a lot more glorious! Oh! But was there any text on it, do you remember? I don’t want to go all the way there and not be able to read anything. I can pick up a translator along the way, if need be!"
"I'm really happy that I could help!" Even through their current state of anxiety, they were clearly excited to have been able to assist Max.They were relieved when the woman let go of their hand, and struggled not to withdraw into themself. They didn't want to seem rude.
"No it's okay I'm just bad with people it isn't that you did anything wrong you're nice-" Once Max began to apologize, they panicked a bit at the fact that they'd upset her. Alex's voice was tinged with a mixture of panic and guilt as they spoke.
Max's sudden return to their original topic was very welcomed, and they focused as much as they could on the question rather than the stress of the situation.
"I don't remember if it did, I was kinda caught up in how cool the pictures were," they admitted sheepishly. They struggled to recall, even flipping through the photos they'd taken, but those as well were focused on the art rather than surrounding detail.
"I hope you find what you're looking for!"

Kitty?
"Hold on, Alex. This is sensitive. I need to concentrate here for a bit."
Kitty…
"Hold on, Alex. Do you want your stupid Holocaster fixed, or not?”
KITTY.
With a disgruntled sigh, the Maker slammed her soldering gun down on the table, and whirled around in her chair. “Goddammit, Alex, what do you wa-
aaa…
oh.”
The ebony-haired girl’s harsh words caught in her throat and disappeared mid-sentence, as her vision locked in on the door behind her acquaintance. That door… Was supposed to lead back into the Electronics Lab. The pitch black void beyond, on the other hand, begged to differ.
She quickly glanced around her workspace, making sure she was in the room she thought she was in. Sure enough, the door on the opposite end of the room was still the stairs up to her living quarters, so she was indeed in her Throne Room.
…So where the hell did the electronics lab go?
"Uh… Was that… was that like that when you came in?" She asked, pointing towards the entryway. "…Because I’m fairly sure that door is not working as intended."
"No it was definitely a regular door. I’m not very good at noticing things sometimes but I’m really sure that it wasn’t some scary dark void thing when I got here…" Alex fidgeted nervously as they spoke, shaking their head. They felt bad for having made Kitty angry but it really had seemed like somewhat of a pressing issue.
"Do you have a pokemon that might have been able to do that somehow?" they asked. It was the only explanation they could think of, but at the same time they hadn’t the faintest clue what kind of pokemon could possibly do something like that.
They hadn’t dared to get any closer than they already were, but it just seemed really dangerous somehow.
Kitty sarcastically raised an eyebrow at Alex’s suggestion. “Annabella’s a talented little Cubone, but I think this sort of thing is beyond her powers.”
She very quickly reached a hand into the inside pocket of her jacket, and brushed her fingertips around its contents. Good. She had her gun on her.
"Just so we’re clear…" Kitty said, standing up out of her chair, "This spooky door thing? This is a bug, not a feature."
She walked up to the threshold, and stuck her hand through. “It’s… cold. Like a refrigerator. No screen or mirrors anything though, don’t think it’s an illusion.”
The flashlight on her Caster clicked on, and she turned and waved towards Alex. “Well, are you coming or not?”
Alex wavered a bit back and forth, as though they were halfway between following Kitty and backing to the opposite wall.
"I don't really like being cold...and I don't like the dark, " they protested softly, wringing their sleeve as they tried to work up the courage to step into the ominous darkness.
They reached for one of their pokeballs, letting Aiden out and picking him up. They stroked the Skitty's soft fur, seeking comfort.
"You've got good eyes in the dark right? You'll tell us if there's something scary?" Alex asked the small pokemon, who purred reassuringly and licked their hand.
"Um, I guess that I'm coming. I don't want to be left alone if something scary comes out of there while you're gone..."
I lost track of time really badly again! I made it through Victory Road okay but then I decided that I should help everyone get stronger before we actually went to take on the Elite Four. I think everyone is in really good shape now, though!
Also when did it get so close to Christmas? I'll have to make sure I'm home Tuesday night so we can have Christmas together! I still kinda miss having an advent calendar but I guess I am a bit old for it, plus they're really hard to find here and it's too expensive to import something like that!
The chocolate always just tasted like the cardboard but it was still somehow tasty, you know?

Instinct (rp w/ lightlevitations)
Alex, wanting to get away from the crowds for a bit and enjoy some fresh air, had gone for a walk outside the city. As usual, several of their pokemon were accompanying them, this time including their Skitty and their Wurmple. Aiden trotted along beside them mewing happily and making a bit of a racket, while the Wurmple crawled around on their arms and shoulders.
They weren’t particularly paying attention to their surroundings. It was partly that they were lost in daydreams, and partly that they just weren’t thinking of much. They were shaken back into reality when they heard a loud yowl followed by the sound of something hitting a bush. Their mind worked through the last few seconds of half-processed data, and they looked down to the ground beside them. Sure enough, there was a conspicuous lack of pink fur, and a very agitated hissing noise coming from the bush.
"Aiden what did you even do?"
Nymph normally kept their practice outdoors in an open space where there was little chance of hitting anyone. They didn’t seem to care too much about the chances of their props getting stuck in a tree, but that was something else and didn’t exactly involve harming another creature by accident.
All the same, they probably should have seen this coming.
Nami, the Audino that had promptly run off after the Skitty, was immediately ready to use Heal Pulse if necessary while her trainer stopped their motions and let the props settle at their sides, walking over to join the pokemon and figure out what had been so unfortunate (and stupid) enough to approach the moving props.
Aiden was perfectly fine, though between the twigs and leaves stuck in his puffed out fur and the expression on his face, you wouldn't know it. When he saw Nymph he bared his teeth, meowing in a way that was probably intended to be menacing.
Alex shook their head as they looked down at their pokemon, then over to Nymph. After a few moments, it clicked. Skitty loved to chase things, and Nymph's props were pretty attention-grabbing...they sighed, kneeling down and reaching their hand out to the cat.
"I'm sorry for Aiden. Usually he's not a brat," they apologized, looking back up at Nymph guiltily. "Are your props okay?"

Sharpedo are actually kinda cool! I really liked the feeling of touching Kaiser's skin with the gloves on, it was a nice sort of scratchy. He really does swim super fast, I had to hold on tight! I'm in Evergrande now and I think Wendy understands how to get here again so it's time to give him back! Maybe I'll get to pet him again sometime soon!
