thinking about how in the novelization Alex says that Tod taught him how to pick a lock
I actually get soo mad when people act like Tod’s whole personality is goofiness when you can see if you think more than two seconds that it is a facade and he can get super serious ready to take control of the situation and be an emotional support
Exactly!! as the best friend of our main character his job is to match Alex’s vibes. At the start he was bringing the fun in his dynamic with Alex in an attempt to calm his best friend and give him some kind of peace. After the crash his job is to ground him and give him a purpose and cause him to crash out post his death because he was the only empathetic and calming presence in his life. As much as he is all about fun he is also someone people look for in time of their need because his empathy is limitless. you can tell that his fun personality is mask to hide his insecurities and sadness and loneliness since his parents don’t understand him and he only had George and Alex. This shows that while Tod can hold on his own in crisis Alex need his support and grounding like in memoriam scene where Tod reassured him even though he was in deep pain. Alex crashes out without him. People tend to switch their personalities because of Tod’s fun personality and baby him but it’s Tod who is actually the serious one while Alex can get pretty ridiculous

This picture is taking me out 💀
oh Tod Waggner you will always be famous
imagine a world where george is the president and carter is the First Lady
society if alex was in the second movie and that’s when he and clear got together instead of rushing things >>>>>>>>>>
this is like a pet peeve of mine that isn’t necessarily serious but I really and I mean really hate when people just characterise tod as a sunshine who needs protection when he was the one grounding Alex even after George died. You would need a lot more than to make him breakdown than Alex. Alex was the one who needed grounded direction not him.

trying to defeat my OCD by watching fd 1 on a plane but for special effects timing the plane crash at the take off
Nine inch nails was right. talking to myself on the way to the station i DO have pictures of the final destination on my head
Carter at the end of fd 1
one of the saddest part of Tod’s death being ruled as suicide is that he was actually being very brave about his grief but his feelings never mattered in that house so it was easy to make it all about George just like any other part of his life
thinking about how being constantly coddled protected george from a certain emotional violence that it is Tod acting like the older brother in situations when it comes to their parents. Thinking about how Tod never resented his life nor his brother even after all that and was trying to be happy as much as he can. can you inhale the toll it must take on him.
