I’m unsure how this relationship would come to be or if they eat healthier but I think my development would take place after Vulpina. They’re also 17 in this au and sit next to each other in class(Lila made up some bullshit about needing the clas prez help since she’s new or something)
In an attempt to bolster her friendship with the class as a whole. Lila is determined to forge a good (or at least fake good) relationship with Marinette specifically. But Marinette sees right through her - mostly.
I think Lila would be legitimately interested in Marinette. She enjoys making her feel small/ has no concept (or just doesn’t care) about personal space whatsoever. Hands on her waist wrist, ‘friendly’ cheek kisses (almost bordering on sexual harassment) But everyone else thinks they’re just really good friends and Marinette is too shy to admit it.
On the flip side, Marinette would take it upon herself to keep an eye on Lila but would sort of be very controlling mother/girlfriend about it. Things like going through her phone (she literally hacked Adriens phone she can do it to anyone), following her after school, etc. Just to make sure she’s not terrorizing the citizens of Paris or anything, of course!
I imagine Lila somehow bullies herself into Marinettes house and Marinette learns about her lonely home life(as her mother is away on business a lot or something) which causes her to lie for attention (at least that’s the conclusion Marinette comes to) which makes her feel a bit more sympathy for the taller girl.
Lila definitely suspects Marinette is Ladybug.
