she has modelled for chanel before and it inflated her already massive ego. it’s so inflated that she can probably lift an entire house like that house from Up.
she definitely posts “clean girl” routines and mirror checks in front of her private gym mirror but spends more time editing her images than working out. i just feel like her sense of fashion is horrible in the original miraculous show, which is pretty on par with how rich people dress tbh. but i wanted her to be a modern rich girl yknow? she’s definitely on top of every single trend (and set off multiple new ones).
but i think the biggest thing i would change about her is the depth and complexity of her character— it’s fumbled so badly in the show that all the promise of a character redemption arc falls short as it not only to fails to deliver but also made her a snarky rich bully caricature by the end of it all. absolutely disappointing.
she definitely is egocentric, but at the bottom of it all she feels scarily inadequate. she’s been thriving off daddy’s money all her life and other than being a perfect pin up doll, what can she actually do? other than looking pretty and acting however others think she should, she can’t be anything else. in that sense she bullies marinette because she feels inferior to her; marinette actually worked her way up and proved time and time again that she is capable; marinette actually has the guts to be herself and be free. it’s like that marina diamandis song where she goes “i think im the worst so i act like im the best”
