Last time this came around I showed my three year old and he said "He's little like me!" and stared for a whole minute (v. Long in toddler time).

started an event suggestion box at my library branch. I made little slips to put a title and description on. We got mostly practical ones(lego building evenings, music class, reading buddies) but my favorite one was from a little boy who told me what it was as he put it in. Good thing too because I couldn't read his handwriting at all. It was one word.
Feast!
And the thing is i think we're gonna do it! We're starting a dragon themed reading challenge and the wrap party could be a feast*!
*Aka a potluck or some juice and cookies.
I ended up having a really interesting conversation with some people at the bus stop today. They were getting out of some sort of âclean and soberâ meeting and had starting saying how they were so bored because they didnât have anything to do, and had to stay at home because all their old friends would pull them back. So I said something like, âSo this is the time to do all the stuff your parents told you they didnât have money/time for!â âWhatcha mean?â âYou know, like when you were five and you REALLY wanted to have that toy or do that thing and you were like, âPlease mom please I gotta have this I gotta go do thisâ and they went âHell no you think Iâm paying for that do you want to goddamn EAT?â â And this light went on in their eyes. The lady is going to go check thrift stores for an Easybake Oven and I told her about Wilton cake decorating classes. The dude is going to Griffith Park and ride horses, because, âI always wanted to be a cowboy, and you canât drink when youâre on a horse âcause youâll fucking die!â Fuck it. This is what being an adult is. Sure itâs bills and work and relationships, but damn it, itâs also time to do the things you LIKE. I signed up for a free class/lecture on Water Gardens. Iâm going. Itâs time.
Jill. Jill you are wonderful.
no joke, this is such an important aspect of overcoming trauma. I mean the trauma of abusive parents, the trauma of broke ass parents who got toxic because of it, the trauma of capitalism. Like fuck it. Go to Wrestlemania. Build a shit ton of terrariums.
This is genuinely a big part of sobriety, learning who you are and want to be as a person, what your interests are, what you like doing now that youâre focused on being a human and not being addicted.
I have so much time and money (relatively) for reading and writing and learning and everything else now that Iâm not centering my days around drinking, and now that I have therapeutic skills and am not automatically drinking away any way that I feel. Big Sobriety Win.

Never stop hating
the scariest thing about old tv isnt really the racism or the sexisim because you kinda go in braced for that it's all the scenes where suddenly an actress is holding a lion cub or a chimpanzee is in the same room as a toddler, or suddenly theres a lion, or there's a chimpanzee again but it's driving a car, or holding a lighter, or holding fireworks. You just kind of watch in horror as over and over an actress performs with only 1960s tv film shootings best animal handling between her and the opening to Nope.
This is how I learn that the famous chimp my dad got my nickname from tried to kill Reagan. Fuck yeah.

Utility is subjective (Not everyone needs a Ford F-150 for instance)
Utility is difficult to quantify (But for the sake of learning we'll assume it can be measured in utils)
Total Utility is the total amount of satisfaction or pleasure a person derives from consuming some specific quantity of a good or service are you kidding me right now what are you doing over there you you being a menace I'm trying to work I'm trying to get stuff done you just want pets obey them all the time stop it bill stop being bad just be good instead of being bad be good stop it stop it damn it damn it stop what do you want from me you're stuck in this spot that I can't grab you yeah I bet it is uncomfortable well guess what don't put yourself in a position where I have to keep doing this just be good ohh
