i love the concept of maddyrue but sometimes i dab into the maddy x cassie plotline just for the yuri of it all
This is so me. Maddyrue forever, but something about Maddy x Cassie is scratching my brain. Especially after the last two episodes of season 3😭
“Plenty of girls out there.”
“This one’s special.”
I'm actually crying that's too sweet😭 even after everything
Okay STOP because she looks so cute in her little sweater 😭😭 how could they be mean to her?!
rue is so hot holy shit
no because I need that expeditiously
with season 3 coming out there's a rise of rue x maddy shippers and I am living for it I love this and I don't even go here
Oh I go here... and I love it!!
To be honest, my life would be perfect if I had studaya in it 😫
This is what I mean, when I said “Spencer Hot Take”, the lack of accountability holding in him really stumps his character development because rather than saying he did some lame shit people would rather coddle the lame shit. . .
I’ve thought about this more and while I agree with the bottom statement; ‘Reid needs more accountability for being immature at times instead of being coddled for being younger/the genius’ I do NOT agree with the pictures statement especially the scene that theyre directly referring to.
In the scene, Reid yells at JJ about Emily being alive and her not having told him (That’s not actually why he’s mad but I’ll explain that in a minute) that Emily was alive the whole time. JJ responds with (not a direct quote but close)
‘You know why you’re so mad at me (in particular)? It’s because you couldn’t profile that I was hiding it.’
A) Who the fuck says that and B) She’s implying that he’s throwing a hissy fit at her because *she’s better at their job than he is.*
He responds with something along the lines of, ‘No, I’m mad because I grieved with you for months and you didn’t have the courtesy to tell me.’ And then walks away.
While he is upset by this, this isn’t actually *why* he’s mad at her, nor is it because he couldn’t profile her- remember that he is well aware that this is something the FBI does to protect people.
Reid is upset at JJ specifically and not at Hotch, who also knew about Emily being alive, because she didn’t apologize for having to lie to him.
She didn’t tell him that she was sorry for having to do it, even if it was part of their job. That’s why he’s mad. Hotch apologizes, he says he’s sorry to every team member for their actions and tells them all to put the blame on him- to direct their anger and frustration towards him because he cares. JJ never does. She basically shrugs her shoulders and says ‘Thems the apples, take it or leave it.’
I’d also like to add Fuck Emily for guilt tripping Reid at the end of this episode. ‘You lost one friend, I lost six’ ????? Bitch you knew they were alive and you’d eventually be able to see them again AND YOU WERE TALKING TO JJ THE WHOLE DAMN TIME, YOU WERE DEAD. YOU WERE GONE GONE
Yeah no... JJ only made that comment AFTER he refused to listen to her. She tried to approach him in a level-headed way and explain and he simply wasn't having it. He was ignoring her and walking away and THEN she made that comment. So what? She makes one snarky remark and all of a sudden she's a bitch and the devil? Honestly idc because his comment about a potential relapse was way worse. So so so manipulative - the guilt tripping is actually insane. But no one ever wants to talk about that. Going this hard to defend a man who is clearly not perfectly innocent in this situation and then calling Emily a bitch tells me everything I need to know.
the maddyrue crumbs in the season 3 trailer...maddyrue endgame
PLEASE girl the height difference omg and Maddy is literally in heels AND standing on her tippy toes😭
no one understands how much i NEED jennifer jareau in my life. like, give that three-blueberries-tall blonde to me.
women are genuinely the greatest thing ever created, you’d be crazy not to adore them with your whole being
Arghh OK I want to like JJ but it's just... things she does rub me the wrong way, especially since Reid is my favourite character (so I also may be biased, I'm aware of that). Really not hating her (since I realise this got long), I like her usually but I want to rant about these specific situations.
So ignoring the later season stuff cause that's just complicated for the sake of it (cough season 15 cough) I have 2 main things that make me dislike her
1. Is obviously the whole Emily thing. Like I 100% get why she didn't tell him. She had her reasons, I respect them, but I also don't get it?
Like two things, first of all, Ian Doyle is not that good. He thinks Emily is dead for starters, so it's not like he's actively trying to find her, nor is he coming after the team. He doesn't have a spy inside the FBI nor can he hack their phones or bug their apartments. There is no way, if JJ and Hotch had told the others, that Doyle could possibly find out, cause it's not like they were gonna yell about it! It's not like Doyle is watching them carefully to see if they're faking their grief beyond the initial death anyway. There is no real way Doyle could have found out honestly.
And the second thing, is that there is a thin line between strong and cold. And I'm probably biased cause of how much I love Reid, but here's the thing - this is the first person close to him who has died. He's got abandonment issues galore and finally someone is just gone, no chance of them coming back, and it breaks him - and JJ sees that! He comes to her house crying for weeks, she must have seen how depressed he was, he starts practicing at the shooting range as a distraction and she might not see it but he considers taking drugs again. How can she look at one of her best friends going through all of this, and lie to his face by pretending she's grieving too when in reality she's playing online scrabble with Emily!?!
Also her response when he mentions that he considered dilaudid is so off, she says "but you didn't, though" because she's protecting her own guilt - her best friend has just admitted he almost relapsed in part because of her actions, but she is checking he didn't actually so she doesn't have to feel guilty about it. I might be reading into that but idk.
Also a little off topic but in general I think they didn't fully consider the implications of what Emily, JJ and Hotch (another thing being that Hotch gets no flack for his part in it, which is also a problem) did to the rest and just went 'well they're happy she's back and that's what matters' - one of the things Emily says to Reid is imo super insensitive, she says "You mourned the loss of a friend. I mourned the loss of six. This whole thing gave me an ulcer, please don't give me another one." And I just feel like that's not helpful at all. Like she didn't mourn 6 friends, she missed them because she couldn't see them for a few months. And she got an ulcer, Spencer almost relapsed, it's just not comparable and I don't know why Reid takes that so well
ANYWAY cause I'm trying not to rant too much, the other specific thing is a comparison between JJ and Emily right - so in Sense Memory, Emily is currently sweeping her apartment, paranoid about Doyle coming to kill her, gets a call from Reid rambling about going to a 5 and a half hour long Russian movie right in the middle of what she's doing and she says "Thank you. For being you. It's what I love about you."
And then a lot later, JJ is (I think she had a panic attack flashback) grieving over the loss of her baby, and Reid is trying to help her, and she says "Stop! Just stop being… you!"
Idk it's really minor but I just don't think JJ appreciates Reid as much for himself, you know? Idk I'm really not trying to hate or be controversial lol, just my thoughts and I'm happy to debate. Or be corrected, I haven't watched the episodes in a bit though this is based on notes I made while watching them the last time.
People constantly misinterpret the "stop being you" scene. The conversations about the 7x2 fight are tired at this point. I'm tired of people attacking jj or being upset with her for not wanting - actually, not being ABLE to tell Reid, but refuse to acknowledge his manipulative statement about a possible relapse. I'm tired of Reid being the babied golden boy who can never do anything wrong. There is so much underlining misogyny oh my gosh.

Rewatching that CM episode from the original series where JJ and Morgan pretend to be a couple to bait a racist and now CAN'T stop thinking about the concept of Evolution Jemily doing that to bait a homophobe. Think about it, they have an unsub who is kidnapping soon to be married lesbian couples and making them play a f-ed up version of the newlyweds game. They lock in on a suspect. Luke or Tara or whoever bring them in for questioning and on their way into the interrogation room the suspect just happens to sees Emily doing that absolutely hetero friend thing she does where she brushes her hand on JJ's back or whatever and they comment on that to Tara or someone. But the BAU don't have enough evidence to detain him, and even with Jemily baiting him during the interview he doesn't bite hard enough so they have to let him go free. Then later on Tara brings up how enraged he was by Jemily so JJ is like yeah true we should just lean into that. And Emily is like 😶 but ultimately agrees because why wouldn't she? Nothing to see here! Then we get a scene where they're checking into their hotel or whatever the trap is and are putting on a total act in public for the unsub while the rest of the team observe from their cars etc. And we get to see Luke worrying the unsub won't fall for it because "they're just doing what they always do!" And Tara is watching through binoculars next to him chomping on snacks like "Yup," at which point Luke suddenly GETS it.
Then it all spirals out of hand when the unsub actually successfully kidnaps them and forces them to play the newlyweds game but they end up being really good at it. And they're SO close to making it out until the unsub asks Emily how many women JJ has been with before her, at which point she super confidently says none, and the unsub is like INCORRECT. And JJ tearfully admits to being the college gay we all know she was. Then the unsub leaves them tied up in a building that's rigged to explode if the team doesn't get there in time. And it's all so emotional and they're trying to get to each other but can't because they're tied up on OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE ROOM AHHHHH so Emily starts to confess something, but then the team bust the doors down before she can finish and save them from the explosion just in time. Cue emotional music as they make it to safety and hug and the team all watch on, looking to each other like 'gee that was a close one do you think they're ok?' Then once the dust settles the end of the episode is just JJ poking her head into Emily's office and they're awkward at first until Emily is like "I guess even after twenty years we're still capable of keeping secrets, huh?" But JJ does the 🥺 face that she does and is like "Maybe we should work on that." And then they decide to go grab dinner and the episode ends on them walking off down the hallway at the BAU with a quote that's in Emily's voice going "All the secrets worth knowing are hiding in plain sight."
Like... They wouldn't even need to follow up with any further Jemily in the episodes after that because we'd all be dead????
Omg I'm begging them to get you in the writer's room you genius!!
I love jennifer jareau with my whole heart
Shes so baby I'm gonna die 🥺
