When did it become okay for people to constantly body shame other people?! Last time I checked we are ALL human beings with feelings that get hurt by cruel and evil nitpicky words regarding our bodies! Why is it so incredibly difficult for people to realize that BEAUTY and HEALTH come in a multitude of SHAPES, SIZES and COLORS! Just because someone is thin doesn't mean they are starving themselves after every single meal to fit into some ridiculous clothing size, and just because someone is larger doesn't mean they are lazy pieces of shit who sit around on a couch all day stuffing their faces full of food! You can be very thin or very large and still be in PERFECT health! The most ignorant of comments that I have been noticing lately have been centered around a model who was recently signed to a huge contract regardless of her being plus sized. While there are so many supporters of this woman, myself included, there are just as many cruel people out there who comment. Because she is a larger woman and is comfortable and confident with her size, people suddenly become doctors and critics saying she's promoting obesity and that she has to be super unhealthy because of her size. NEWFLASH: Just because a plus sized person is happy, comfortable and confident with their size DOES NOT mean they are promoting an unhealthy lifestyle! I am a plus sized woman myself and because I am confident does that mean I am promoting an unhealthy lifestyle? The answer is NO! I am in PERFECT health and am a very active individual, but guess what?! I AM STILL PLUS SIZED!!!! Just as a confident plus sized person doesn't promote an unhealthy lifestyle, neither does a confident thinner person promote an unhealthy lifestyle. I have beautiful thin friends who are in PERFECT health! Thin does not equal eating disorder just as large does not equal eating disorder. What I am hoping to see in coming years and future generations is more tolerance and more acceptance for different body types. What I hope to see less of is ignorance, naivety, cruelty, and stereotypes. Think before you speak. BEAUTY AND HEALTH DO NOT COME IN ONE SHAPE, SIZE, OR COLOR. FURTHERMORE YOU CAN NOT JUDGE A PERSON'S HEALTH OR WELL BEING BASED ON THEIR PHYSICAL APPEARANCE.
