Trudeau government trying to expand Indigenous housing options through new contest

The Liberals are offering Indigenous communities $30-million in prize money as part of the contest that could end up rewriting the rules about how Ottawa funds badly needed housing on-reserve.

Here’s a better idea.

Lets not pit impoverished First Nations against each other for a $30 million dollar ‘housing prize’ (which is nowhere near the cost to fix infrastructure in Indigenous communities).

Lets just adequately fund all First Nations in Canada.

This sounds like those “for exposure” contests people hold to scam labour out of artists.

Of course, it’s coming from Trudeau’s Liberals, who want to shove a pipeline through BC that indigenous groups oppose, so I shouldn’t be surprised.
