alien/aline β 30s, no pronouns - just my name, black brazilian, scorpio midheaven, aquarius rising, capricorn venus, taurus moon, aquarius sun. i disappear sometimes.
i wake up thirsty and i think of palestine. i go to the doctorβs office and i think of palestine. a sign in the corner of the waiting room says βthis is a place of healing, disruptive behavior will not be toleratedβ and i think of palestine. they probably werenβt thinking of bombs and snipers and mass graves in parking lots. i call my parents and i think of palestine. i drive to the grocery store and i think of palestine. i look at the clear blue sky and i think of palestine. i put the dishes away and i think of palestine. i feed my cat and i think of palestine. i listen to music and i think of palestine. i read poetry and i think of palestine. i text my friends and i think of palestine. i think of palestine and i think of palestine and i think of palestine
To introduce myself, Iβm a Palestinian-American who has been to the West Bank many times. Rβ¦ H A needs your support for Help Ahmed and His
Making this new pinned post for Ahmed @90-ghost Please donate and/or spread as much as you can.
EDIT: GFM is giving me grief because this is going to someone in Gaza. I am trying to sort it out, but if the worst-case scenario happens and they shut it down, Iβll have to refund everyone. Currently, I canβt even access the funds. You can still donate if you want, but youβll be more sure to get money to Ahmed if you go to his blog and use his PayPal or Ko-Fi to donate directly.
EDIT 12/24: the fundraiser hit its goal! But the funds are still in limbo. GFM essentially concluded their questioning and told me that they will reach out when thereβs a decision regarding whether or not I will be able to transfer the funds or if everyone will be refunded. Iβm trying to at least pester them for a decision ASAP, but in the case of a refund, please pay attention to your email for the refund notification and re-send your money directly to Ahmedβs PayPal: @/ahmed94saad
EDIT 12/29: the good news is that GFM reached out to Ahmed directly, received his documentation, etc and it looks like theyβre moving forward with lifting the hold on the account, hopefully. The bad news is that the cost of the permits has gone up in the time that this has taken. Itβs $7500 per person now. Iβve adjusted the goal and re-opened donations accordingly.
[ID: A video recording of Bisan Owda, filming herself standing still and speaking in front of a car underneath the morning sky in Gaza, with the sun visible above her head. Loud sirens can be heard around her as she says:
"Hey, everyone. This is Bisan from Gaza. We're still alive, and we wish you a merry Christmas in the Christmas eve. Wish you a merry Christmas despite the churches of Gaza are closed, full of displaced people, and surrounded with snipers. We wish you a merry Christmas despite the children, women, men, Christians and Muslims of Gaza are murdered and under genocide. We wish you a merry Christmas despite that we cannot exchange gifts or spend our holidays in our homes because they are completely destroyed, and merry Christmas despite there are hundreds of killed, decomposed bodies in the the north of Gaza Strip in the streets, at least 137 them are field executed by the Israeli soldiers in front of their children. Merry Christmas, but pray for Gaza."
End ID.]
Please think about why these videos are coming out in English. In your tongue, so that you can understand them. Don't ignore them or get tired of seeing them or call them guilt-trippy. Don't stop talking about Palestine. Make Palestine impossible to ignore. Even at the cost of "disrupting" your celebrations.
Munther Isaac's Christmas message from Bethlehem. It's in English so there's no mistaking who needs to hear it. Please don't ignore it.
"We will be OK. Despite the immense blow we have endured, we, the Palestinians, will recover. We will rise. We will stand up again from the midst of destruction, as we have always done as Palestinians. Although this is, by far, maybe the biggest blow we have received in a long time, but we will be OK. But for those who are complicit, I feel sorry for you. Will you ever recover from this? Your charity and your words of shock after the genocide won't make a difference, and I know these words of shock are coming, and I know people will give generously for charity, but your words won't make a difference. Words of regret won't suffice for you. And let me say it; we will not accept your apology after the genocide. What has been done has been done. I want you to look in the mirror, and ask: Where was I when Gaza was going through a genocide?"
For the first time since the 1948 Nakba, there was no Christmas tree lighting outside the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, Palestine.
In its place, an installation depicting the nativity scene is placed in solidarity with the people of Gaza who have been facing a harrowing Israeli aggression for the past 80 days, an aggression so catastrophic that it lead to cancelling Christmas celebrations in Bethlehem this year.
With the nativity models placed amid rubble and barbed wire, the star of Bethlehem is represented by the aftermath of a bomb hitting their shelter. The scene replicates those following Israeli shelling of civilian homes in Gaza.
This Christmas (date varies between Churches), please think about both Palestinians and Armenians, two of the oldest Christian communities in the world, who, for over 100 years, have been facing mass deportations and genocide.
On 19 September 2023, Azerbaijan started bombing Artsakh, which was already under blockade since 2022. 20 civillians were killed and more than 200 were injured. By 3 October 2023, 100.617 Armenians have been forcibly displaced.
On 7 October 2023, "Israel" has cut off all the water and electricity supply to Gaza, which was already under blockade since 2007. Since then, Gaza has been heavily bombarded, the north of the strip becoming unlivable. 25 December 2023 marks the 80th day of a war waged against civillians. More than 1.8 million people are internally displaced, 2.3 million people are living in dangerous conditions, risking starvation, illness and infection. More than 20.400 people have been killed and more than 50.000 people have been injured, half of them being children.
To any of our followers in Gaza, we hope you are okay. Whatβs happening in Gaza is scarier than anything weβve ever posted.
I made this post almost a decade ago. I made this post when the global perspective on Palestine was very different than what it is today.
I know a lot hasnβt changed. The people of Palestine have been enduring this violent occupation for 75 years but 10 years ago there werent global protests every day. There was significantly less coverage and outcry than what Iβm seeing today.
I hope you all continue the good fight and continue to speak out against the violent occupation of Palestinians. Things are changing and Palestine will be free.
From the river to sea
The Israeli occupation dropped leaflets in Al-Bureij today (Times of Gaza) that read:
"You are located in an critical battle zone. For your safety leave immediately and head to known shelters in Deir-Al-Balah" (25-12-23)
Hereβs what the situation in Deir-Al-Balah has been this past week up until this morning:
Dr Ebraheem works in the Al-Aqsa Martyrβs Hospital in Deir-Al-Balah. This is what heβs got to say about the situation in Deir-Al-Balah
In a post written on his blog, Dr Ebraheem describes the situation at the hospital further:
βI saw bodies coming spewing dust as if they were a sponge dipped in ash. I saw children bleeding and sinking into a coma because heavy stones came on their weak heads. I saw people whose colors, shapes, and names changed, where at a certain moment it was not possible to know who was injured, as they said: βClean his face from the dust, perhaps we might recognize him.β
They do, and discover that he is so-and-so, the kind and simple man, as he was sitting in his house because he had no other place to escape.
I saw people confused by the number of victims - because of their large numberββHow many dead did we count today? Did we miscount? I told you, in the last hour, two girls came as martyrs, two children with bleeding heads, ten young men who came without vital signs in one fell swoop at the very least, lumps of flesh (parts) in a small bag, and open heads from which the brain can be seen.β
I sat with someone who was talking to himself and asking: βAll these injured and martyrs were like us an hour ago, they were with us.β
A little while ago they were alive (like us), so when will our turn come?β
meanwhile, we have people making excuses saying palestinians are given βample time to evacuateβ. evacuate where?! where should they go? everywhere they go there is murder, rubble, bombings and destruction. nowhere is safe. itβs all a trap!
where. should. they. go?
this is their homeland. there are not going anywhere else. ceasefire and end occupation NOW!!

PROTEST!
let the world know you stand with palestine. let the world know it MUST at any cost, dismantle the state of israel and free the palestinians.
demand the rights of the palestinians. demand they be given back their land. THIS is what land back means. the palestinians must be given their land back in its entirety.
from the river to the sea, palestine must be freed.
there are no more negotiations to be made. they must be free. this has gone too far for too long. israeli aggression is intolerable and the world will no longer stand for it nor make excuses for it. this is not a war. these people are not collateral. this is a textbook case of genocide and it, and the israeli occupation, must be stopped.
Bethlehem, Palestine.
Usually there is a festive parade to celebrate Christmas.
But today it is a silent march for the lives lost in Gaza.
There are still hundreds of thousands of people in Northern Gaza

Dozens have been arrested as Israeli forces stormed Jenin and areas around Nablus.
Israeli occupation forces continue raiding the West Bank, killing and kidnapping Palestinians in Jenin, Nablus and Bethlehem
