30 Days of New Who Day 13: Favorite Fanfictions

Here’s where I would usually put a quote of some kind, but using a quote from this fic would take the joy out of you guys reading it for the very first time.  So I’ll just say this is the best fanfiction I’ve ever read.  Its Au where the Doctor is a rockstar who takes Rose on tour as his opening act.  Its beautifully written, equally hot and sweet.  Sometimes its loosely based on season 2 other times it veers to a new territory, but no matter what the two heroes are perfectly in character, something that is often difficult to achieve even when the story is not AU.  If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it!

The Doctor was minding his own business when he heard her voice. At first he shrugged it off. It was probably him imagining it was Rose when it wasn't, as usual. "I suppose it is what professors wear, isn't it?" the Doctor quickly smiled at the other girl, then took a double take. He didn't mean to stare but.. it really was Rose. "R-rose?"

A Letter ||

Rose sighed quietly as she pulled out a piece of parchment, and a pen and began writing the Doctor a letter. She’d found her way across a  few years ago with still no sign of the Doctor. If anything, she thought he’d return to Torchwood just above the rift to refuel. Rose slowly began writing, Trying to make the writing look neat.

"My Dearest Doctor,

                                 Hello old friend…Its Rose. Now before you begin grumbling and still looking surprised about receiving this. I doubt the TARDIS knew it was from me. I just let the letter fly on the wind, hoping it’d find you. I’m back home in the proper universe, used that dimension cannon Dad made. John’s been dead for a few years now. Some idiot killed him as he was walking home late one night from work..Just know that I love both of you with all my heart…and I’ll here at the old flat waiting for you…

Your Rose Tyler."

The Doctor was about to fly his TARDIS to Clara's house after having been drifting in space for a little bit. When he came up to the console he saw a sealed envelope. No markings to whom it should've been delivered to, yet he knew it was for him. He opened the envelope and sat on the staircase in the TARDIS, putting on the glasses that belonged to his friend Amy Pond to read it.

After reading, he immediately flew the TARDIS to Rose's flat and ran up to the door, knocking on it quickly and excitedly. "Rose!" he called, hoping she was home at the moment.
