Lemon Boy.
Oh peach pit where'd the hours go When your orange skin began to glow From a hanging branch in gardens home Not much is hidden underneath A rocky heart for breaking teeth And apple cores cyanide seed.
He came in like a warm breeze on a summer's day. Pleasant and comforting, making me feel alive and surreal at the same time. His touch making me feel the most comfortable I had ever been, yet making me feel like I could burst out of my skin any moment, like a butterfly from its cocoon. His eyes, a deep brown with flecks of gold making me want to just look at them all day long yet forcing me to shy away from the intensity. I loved everything about his eyes, the small almond shape of them, the thick yet sparse eyelashes that casted shadows on his irises, the warm golden brown coloured swirls that reminded me of a volcano just waiting to erupt. His speech coming out very confidently sometimes and the other times just getting stuck in his throat. I could look at him speak for hours, watch him try to enunciate the words correctly, careful not to slip or slur any word. Correcting himself hurriedly right after if he did make a mistake. It seemed like the most entrancing thing in the world just watching him speak. I loved his voice when he spoke about something he loved, it sounded like a cup of warm tea on a cold winter's day. His voice changed tones quite a bit. It could go from cold and distant to warm and enthusiastic in a minute. That's another thing that fascinated me, his face could be stone cold straight but his eyes and voice always betrayed him. Everything about him reminded me of a warm summer's day and why I used to love summers so much. And the funny thing was he hated summers. He was a walking, talking paradox. All the mushy love songs before him were just something that were pleasing to the ears and heart, they never made sense. Now every lyric makes me think of him, maybe this is bad for me. Maybe things will go wrong and I'll be left lost with no sense of direction to go back to normal, but I don't mind. For him, I don't mind. The first time our lips met, the feverish way our lips tried to fight for dominance, the way his soft lips absolutely contrasted from his rough way of kissing me, I could never forget. I would never want to forget. I look into his eyes and wonder how I could ever wait to meet him. I know that maybe I'll never get to know his deepest secrets and I'm content with whatever he can give me because with the right person sometimes even a little bit is enough.
