Throwing it back this rainy Sunday to a wander in a Moroccan market. The air felt like it was drying me out as it passed me. Even the smells changed by the second, spice, people, dust and ocean. Been thinking about how we can be our own worst enemy sometimes. Over-thinking, over-doing, over-compensating. It all stems from fear and a lack of confidence. This week I saw someone chuck all the friends that didn’t agree with her in a fit of rage. Years from now she’ll regret it. The friends that tell you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear are the good ones. It’s Christmas Eve and all is quiet. Mum is watching Fantastic Beasts in the next room. Dad fell asleep by the fire and dropped his Wizard of London book on the floor. The stockings are left under the tree with care as melted chocolate in the toe would be an absolute nightmare. The wreath on the door is a grocery store special and we’ve only decorated the bottom bit of the house in lights. Oh well. I’ve poured my love & care into 3 epic meals & now it’s leftovers & chill. Christmas is not about perfect. It’s about the luxury of time. So if you find yourself running about in a panic. Take a break. Say no.
