one of my mutuals on twitter is getting top surgery.

i’m so happy for her.

she wrote a thread saying how she felt so devastated about having breasts, and that for years it drove her to tears whenever she saw them.

she got a psychiatrist note saying that surgery was necessary, but her insurance refused to pay for it because she didn’t fit the narrow definition of what kind of person should be getting it, so she set up a gofundme, and it reached the goal of paying for the surgery within a couple days.

she told me that a few guys were being weird and asking her not to get the surgery.

but i’m so glad that that she gets to live with a new version of her body that she’ll be much happier with.

btw, i’m not misgendering her, i asked her about the way she sees herself, and she says she feels more fluid than trans, i hope i’m not misquoting her, and she told me that she prefers feminine and neutral pronouns.

but anyway, i’m so glad to have such kind and talented friends, and i’m glad to see their wishes come true. i’m so overcome with happiness for her that i could start crying
