BLU, in Ostiense, Rome, again

Roma, all’ex caserma dell’aeronautica, occupata dal 2003: 200 famiglie per un totale di circa 500 invisibili che abitano quello che fino a ieri era un palazzone anonimo bisognoso di essere ristrutturato, e oggi sta diventando uno degli esempi più belli di arte contemporanea in Italia.

Perché è questo il senso di quello che fa Blu: presentarsi senza bozzetti, senza sponsor e senza soldi e soprattutto senza permessi – “voglio farlo illegalmente perché è così che funziona”, spiega in questi casi – sbattendo in faccia a tutti i paradossi che siamo costretti a vivere quotidianamente, ma dei quali ci dimenticheremmo volentieri. Il tutto nell’ottica di combattere quel fenomeno conosciuto come gentrificazione, brutta parola che identifica l’ancor più brutto fenomeno che vede protagonisti ricchi e immobiliaristi acquistare pezzi di interi quartieri poveri per farli diventare “cool”, col risultato di svuotarne l’anima.
