I love how imperfect every single character is in The Dragon Prince. They all have issues. Callum has a temper, Ezran is non-confrontational, Rayla is indecisive, Soren struggles with black and white thinking, Claudia avoids uncomfortable truths. And their parents?? Also just imperfect people. Harrow made a choice out of bitterness that cost him nine years of his son’s lives, Sarai sacrificed herself for a cause she didn’t believe in, Viren, Ethari let his grief consume him to the point where he wasn’t there when Rayla needed him, Runaan was so singularly focused on his mission that he didn’t think about her welfare, Lissa made a hard decision that left her children in an abusive household, Tiadrin and Lain chose their duties to their people over family. None of these choices are inherently right or wrong, they’re just choices. Gosh it just adds so much to the characters because they’re all so imperfect.
