A new Vannopshi script example. This one is a name.

This is read zo-va-sha-yi-yo-ka la-tha-yo-zo ma-le-di-le-he-si, romanized properly as Zuwṣéyyuk Laṭyoz Máldílhäs, pronounced as /’zuw.ʃɛj.juk ‘lɐθ.joz ‘mɑl.dɨl.hæs/.

Names in Vannopshi are arranged Surname-Personal name-Patro/Matronymic. Not everyone in Vannopshish society have surnames, generally being reserved for nobles or other people of societal importance, but the majority of people stick to the personal and patro/matronymic names. The -häs [hesi] at the end of the patro/matronymic just means “child”, so literally “Child of Maldil.”

Anyway, I’ve been working on another language. My current goal is to translate and make a video reading an SCP in this language. The translation and reading is already done, but I want to be able to have the text on the screen actually be the text the language is written in.

Above is a string of letters chosen at random to demonstrate what it looks like in action. It’s not entirely final, and I do think I need to thicken the diagonals on a few characters, but it does look pretty alright. Inspired by the Menlo font.

(As an aside, this would be read a-di-gi-fi-tha-tho-vi-ngi-pa-rha-ki-da-go-i-ma-khe-na-mi. It doesn’t mean anything, but there ya go.)
