I thought I knew, I answered with, “The clothes are what make them a boy or a girl.”. My parents laughed and told me it was the genitals that made us a male or female. I thought that was the right answer for the longest time.
When I was a bit older I really enjoyed this anime, Gravitation. It is basically a yaoi, but without rated r stuff. I loved it and thought the two guys were perfect for each other. I still do.
Right now i’m looking back to those times and realize a bunch of things like, what makes you a boy or a girl is who you feel you are inside. SURE, genitals is the scientific definition on what makes you a male or a female. But that’s only for reproduction reasons. Also before like I don’t know, 7th grade. I used to not even know there was a word for guys who like guys or girls who like girls, let alone knew some people despise them. After all this it got me thinking about this one thing…
WHY IS EVERYTHING SO GENDERIZE
I know genderize isn’t a word but I don’t know a better word for it.
Like if you think about it, it’s silly. What makes Emily a girls name, and what makes Nick a boy name, and then why the f is Alex a name for both genders. What makes pink girly and blue masculine. Also same with flowers and video games. Why is everything genderize. I also have been seeing that guys get bullied more for being feminine. I’m not saying girls don’t get hate from it, I know quite a few girls, who have moms, who want them to dress more girly. I get some weird looks for crossplaying but I don’t care anymore.
This is what I say to all of you. Guys if you think cheer is cool, try out for it. If you want to try make up go right at it. Girls, you see that skateboard ya wanna try, go have fun. Wanna do woodshop go ahead. Heck you know what, people are always gonna judge you, no matter what you do…so…why not be you.
